Is this what /out/ is normally like? Just off-topic shitposting in threads about survival supplies?

Actually, the word "survival" around here can be class 1 "triggered" for many.

/out/ is about going outside. Hiking, camping, hunting... stuff like that. /out/ isn't really about "prepping" or "survival". It's about enjoying the outdoors.

Most survival type stuff is pretty bullshit. It deals with apocalypse type stuff. It's meme. A properly prepared outdoorsman is prepared for nature, without having a cache of ammo buried in his yard for when the commies invade.

Nothing wrong with paracord. It has it uses. You know, like parachutes. For the most part it's expensive compared to other cordage. It is also very stretchy, and is heavy compared to other cord. For a bracelet, sure go for it, but other cord is better for most things.

Stick around /out/ for a while. Sure there are some ultra conservative bushcrafers that kinda kill the mood, and there are plenty of newbie hikers that don't know how to pitch a tent unless they're looking at hentai....but for the most part it's chill people who like going outside.

Pic unrelated, also, are you in the bathtub?
>>
>>630379
Good to know thanks.
And yeah, I was sick during the 10k today... thought a bath might help it go away, ended up making the bracelet in there.

Cheapest possible, because if you're worried about strength you should be using something else. It has its uses as basic cordage but it's not worth fussing over.

I also prefer polyester accessory cord or something similar for most rope crafts because it's rounder and more solid and abrasion resistant. And turk's head to cobra knot for bracelets.
>>
>>630385
Nothing wrong with a hot bath, a good wank, and a paracord bracelet.

I have a paracord bracelet, I also have 100 ft of paracord. Neither are that iseful, but I still kinda like them.

You should weave a paracord condom, you'd be the first I'm sure, and you'd become legend.

Just like that guy that became the alpha goose and pepper sprayed up their ass to kill them.

Paracord general? Okay. I have some things for you. I'll post them as I get them collected from various places on my hard drive. I'll be posting several "how-to" links for making things from paracord, as well as knotwork stuff. Might even zip the pdfs I've got on the subject and upload them somewhere. Commencing dump.

Chain Sinnet Bracelet
Vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uDhsnYYI7s
Takes longer to make than the bracelet you've got now, but so much easier to get to your cordage when you need it.
Steps:
>Find the middle of a 10-12 ft. section of Paracord and halve it
>Take the middle and girth hitch it into the female portion of the buckle
>Thread the two working ends through the bottom bar of the male portion of the buckle
>Now place what you’ve created around your wrist and tighten the working ends until you have the desired size
>*You’ll want it snug, but not tight, as the pattern we’ll be creating will add some girth to the bracelet
>Take the right side working end and create a bight (loop) and bring it over the standing center part
>Take the left side working end, create a bight and loop it through the loop you just made with the right side working end
>Ensure the new bight passes through your initial bight from the top, not the bottom
>Pull on the standing right hand strand to tighten the loop that’s now holding your second bight
>Take this secondary left side working end bight and take it under the standing center part
>Repeating the same type of work you just did, you’re now going to create a new bight with the standing right side line
>This bight now passes through the bottom, rather than the top as you just did with the last side
>Now you’re just repeating those steps, alternating from the right side going over the standing part and the left side going around the back of the standing part
>Remember to tighten and push the “knots” down as you go
>As you pull through your last bight near the male buckle, you’ll actually pull this side all the way through and into the female buckle
>The opposite strand you’re left with will be also threaded into the male buckle
>Now that both strands are out the backside of the male buckle tuck them behind the topmost loop of the solomon bar wrapping
>Tighten and trim to desired length

Link leads to an Instructable for making stockwhip, snakewhip, or bullwhip. This one will take quite a bit of cordage, but is a fun weekend project if you're up for it. Oh, you may need (depending on which whip you make) a short section of dowel rod and/or some BBs.

Thanks. I'm at work, but will post as I'm able (between shit to do so I'm not fired by morning). The sling, by the way, works great. Spherical ammo is more accurate. That said, you will need LOTS of practice before you get gud.
>>
>>630442
>practice.
So I've heard. I'm gonna start making that sucker tomorrow morning and try knocking down some targets.
>>
>>630443
Godspeed, anon. I've been working with mine for about a week, and I've been getting gradually better but am nowhere near "good" yet. BTW, overhand throw for near(ish) targets, underhand for farther ones. Sidearm throw a shit. Just my personal observation, your results may differ. Oh, and if you have access to clay it makes excellent ammo when rolled into a ball and dried. Sand is good too, you can mix it with Elmer's glue and it makes nice rounds.

This last one will require the use of a fid, which is basically a hollow needle for stitching with paracord. Rather than buying one, you could always /diy/ it with a, get this, sex bolt. Also known as a Chicago screw, you'll need the hollow (female) half and a drill. Chuck up the hollow end in the drill, use sandpaper etc to bring the solid end to a blunt point. This will enable you to poke paracord through smaller holes than you would be able to by hand. To prepare the end of your paracord to be used with this particular fid, just burn it until it gets puddle-y and then smash the puddle against a flat surface. This widens the (now hard) end of the paracord so it'll grip the threads inside the fid.

First you need to cover yourself head to toe in maple syrup. Since they're Canadian, the syrup will be familiar to them and won't cause them to panic.

Use the cover of darkness to slowly approach one of them.

Make your move, be deliberate but smooth. Grab one of the geese. Now pull out your large can of pepper spray, and spray it directly up the goose's ass.

The goose will inflate until it explodes, sending goose down everywhere. Don't worry, you're ready for this.

Roll around in the goose down quickly. Other geese will be coming to see why Greg just exploded. The maple syrup will be like glue, and the goose down will stick to you. Make sure you cover every inch of yourself.

You are now a goose.

The other geese will be suspicious, this is where you need to be careful. If you just run around blowing pepper spray up the other goose asses, they will catch on quickly and attack.

Slowly gain their trust. It may take weeks even. Eventually you'll have to become the alpha goose. It will involve a man vs goose fight, but the other geese will not interfere out of respect.

You should be able to win this fight, and the former alpha goose will fly away.

You now control the geese.

Since you're the alpha, you'll need to mate with the other geese. This is where your plan comes together.

Just as you're about to penetrate the goose, swap out your boner for the pepper spray. Just like you did to Greg, make that goose explode.

One by one you'll slowly eliminate the geese. Since you're the alpha, they won't question you.

Once you've killed all the geese, you may notice there is a lot of extra goose down laying around. This is where your friends come in, covered in honey.

You now are all geese. You control the campus, and because of the rules, no one can stop you.

You have become legend.
