What does /out/ think of Wim Hof? Have any of you tried his methods at all?
>>
Hippie nonsense.
>>
>>630271
don't know who he is.

but people who strip down to take shirtless pics on mountaintops when it is sunny as fuck are pretty much all douches.

it is a facebook gimmick. because regular photos at the summit aren't enough. but now everyone does it. what next, cock out, fully erect, jacking off on the summit?
>>
>>630354
You mean you don't harbor the secret desire to take a shit on the highest point in the world?

never seen his shit. but climbing everest is a brisk walk except for 2 places. if you get a week of good weather even my fucking mom could probably climb everest. there are seriously 2 places that are tricky and the god damned shrpas.

i could seriously care less about how you did an /out/ achievement. try camping where actual things live.

atempted failed royally
didn't even make it to camp 2 literally the first stop after the advanced Base camp .
and since he doesn't want to die he probably had sherpas carrying all the gear. just like they do with other paying customers. carring tea food and gear all the way to the summit now.

>>630271

He was able to willfully suppress his body's immune response under lab conditions. This was previously thought to be impossible as it's considered a part of the autonomic nervous system and incapable of willful influence. To prove that it wasn't just because he was a freak of nature, he taught 12 other subjects that were also able to the same thing.

his body's immune response under lab conditions.

"The trained men produced more of the hormone epinephrine as a result of the techniques they had learned." Epinephrine is a stress hormone that is released during increased activity of the sympathetic nervous system and it suppresses the immune response. "We indeed observed that in the trained subjects the release of inflammatory proteins was attenuated and that they experienced far less flu-like symptoms," says Kox.

Btw. Epinephrine is more known as Adrenalin. which is a big part of the Flight or Fight hormone cocktail. and its main tasks include increasing the heart rate, increasing blood pressure, expanding the air passages of the lungs, enlarging the pupil in the eye (see figure), redistributing blood to the muscles and altering the body’s metabolism, so as to maximise blood glucose levels.

stories of what people are capable of in stress/adrenalin situation are a dime a dozen on the net.

go be an pseudo-intellectual fool somewhere else please. may be you will there find a cure for your fedora tipping induced carpal tunnel syndrome

Thanks for reiterating that. It makes your post look very intellectual to be verbose like this.

>stories of what people are capable of in stress/adrenalin situation are a dime a dozen on the net.

Of course they are. This is more obvious shit. Are there other studies of people that are able to induce the release of it at will under no stress?

Post some links, sport.

combination of hyperventilating for 30 breaths then holding your breath for 2-3 mins alternating with push ups and balance exercises. need to start 30 before the test. and need to keep doing stuff for the next 2.5 hrs.

> stress free
> triggered at will

use google: adrenaline rush
Find stuff like:
plenty of sports, ride in roller coaster, games. even a simple as looking down from a high place or an emotional movie. Or meeting slenderman. Or doing something illegal.
it is so common the term "adrenalin junky" is a thing.

there are figuratively a million studies about adrenalin release / adrenalin rush. or just read the wiki article for it.

or just accept that i don't agree the the guys method is anything special

He can maintain a consistent core body temperature while submerged in ice. He has proven under laboratory conditions that he can control his immune system as well as other supposedly autonomic bodily functions. He ran a half marathon in the desert without taking one drink of water and holds 26 world records for his endurance feats.

The man is incredible.

He was on Joe Rogans podcast recently. He seems like a good guy, i'd love to meet him and learn his techniques which he says anyone can learn.

A brisk walk in the death zone, which you can only access by foot on 14 mountains worldwide?

Fuck off m8..
>>
>>630946
Ignore him. Some people here have gotten it into their heads that Mt. Everest has become a simple tourist attraction.
>>
>>630955
To be fair, it pretty much has.

Not that this detracts from the difficulty in summitting it. But we read it every year. Overcrowding, traffic jam, trash dumping. Too many immoral guides take huge groups of inexperienced climbers and put everyone on the mountain in harms way. People die exactly for this reason.
>>
>>630973
That's true although the Nepalese government is apparently cracking down on that. Making it to the summit is still incredibly difficult even if it's not an overly technical climb.

You forgot to mention the pushups and balance exercises were only done during the training period.

The breathing exercises/meditation was the only physical exertion done during the actual endotoxin injection experiment. Abdominal tightening was introduced at the hour mark.

We've established what an adrenaline rush is. Yes I know he is causing it. He's doing it just by breathing hard rather than what you've just mentioned. That's the intriguing part. These techniques may help people with auto-immune disorders to control flair-ups.

>or just accept that i don't agree the the guys method is anything special

I would if you didn't misrepresent/misinterpret it.
