Yeah that pattern works really well in the spring in western Canada on stocked trout ponds. I usually prefer the leech version though, but both are good.

where do you get yours?
That one is from an Orvis binge I made a few months back but to be completely honest I'm not overly impressed with the quality of orvis flies.
I'm a novice at tying my own, i have a few I like but I don;t rely on my own skills because i'm just not very good yet!

My buddy's dad ties a metric shit ton every winter.
But if I ever need to buy something I go here http://www.ickyflyworks.ca or I pick them up locally at Wholesale Sports, Bass Pro, Cabellas, whatever.
Good job learning tying; it's an art form. I have too many hobbies now to justify picking up tying - I'd rather start ammo reloading first but it's on my list to get to eventually.
