Hey guys, didn't know where else to post this. Was out inna woods earlier near my house with a friend and we found these mushrooms. Neither of us have seen this kind before and I can't seem to find any information on the internet about identifying them.
Anyone perhaps know the name of these things? Also gonna dump pics I took of them (theres 5)
If it helps they were growing on an live oak tree knot.

Location helps a lot, since different species only grow in certain locations. You could call your local extension office, they're usually better than the internet for these things, because they specialize in local plants.
Generally though, any white cap mushroom is going to be toxic, usually fatally. The only one I would trust is puffballs, because at least in my area, those are safe, and very easy to identify (once they're big).

Those may also be immature. If so, try comparing them to pictures with flat-topped mushrooms, because the caps may not have opened yet.
And in case anyone was thinking of using these to "retire", It's not a good way to go.
Those look like Coprinus Plicatilis.
Maybe some regional variation.

Yeah that or Coprinellus disseminatus if they don't turn black when you pinch them.

Just make sure it isn't an aminita "egg", the destroying angel can look like a puffball in it's early stages.
