>!!! This is a scientific mission !!!

I am looking for the most advanced and toughest Outdoor Equipment of our time.

What items come in your mind when you think about a futuristic outdoor setup?

titan mugs, ceramic blades? extreme long-life headlamps? super light self inflating shelters? intelligent clothing?

nEW concepts and innovations are welcome.
!post your kit list for this mission!

Titan mugs are neat if you have money to burn.

A fucking hard copy of Biosafety 101 distributed to every single member of the team.

A basic checklist will be laser-etched into their helmets reading: "Don't take your fucking helmet off outside the ship."

Some dudes will carry some cool-ass, lightweight, high powered rifles for the space monsters. Some other dudes will get flamethrowers that have science applied to them.

Everyone will get a torch that's a hybrid of a road flare, a solid rocket booster and a can of thermite so in case of emergency everyone on the team can glass the immediate area around them and book it away.

We here at NASA have seen too many horror movies to let our expensive-ass mission be ruined by stupidity.

Instead of the bear spray I carry now, a same-sized jetpack strapped to my belt. Out comes a bear I hit Super Boost and blast up into the sky well above the bear's reach, urinating the whole way.

Also a futuristic food-machine that makes bananas by voice command. Weighs 1.5 oz. Also makes chocolate chip muffins like >>615732 does (but weighs half as much).

Clothing.
Micro environments that change temperature etc. based on body temp and heart rate. Clothes also clean you and keep you dry etc.

Skeleton built into clothing to make movement easier and reduce the amount of energy you use. Clothing also makes you stronger as to deal with any emergency situation (animal attack) (Run fast to avoid forest fire etc.)

Jarvis style heads up with an advanced kind of google for any kind of information needed.

Equipment.
Clothing should eliminate need for shelter/fire etc. Backpacks would contain mostly food and equipment to aid movement etc, potentially energy source for clothing/jarvis etc.
Basically a better version of master chief/cortana.

Very true. I've been using a bivvy for some time instead of a tent because our company can't afford the very best of the best (£800 overboots for example) but some of the modern gear does look amazing. a couple more layers underneath and I reckon you'd be pretty decent.

Your reply makes no sense at all, if what you say were true then you wouldn't be allowed to buy anything more dangerous than play dough and crayons in the shops but you keep on self censoring yourself while I get on with enjoying life pal
>>
>>619282
But it does not fill a need. Its dangerous for no good reason.
Have you ever worked as a mechanic?
So many times a day when you break torque , you lose control of the wrench for a moment. If that wrench has a blade on it, eventually its going to fuck something up. Maybe your brake lines , maybe your arteries.
Its just a profoundly dumb idea tbh.
Sure if you were amazing careful you might get a repair done with no accidents, but why take the risk?
>>
>>619114
> i wrap my mora in barbed wire becuz cool man
>>
>>619283
So what you are saying is that we should not be allowed to take that risk, that we are incapable of judging for ourselves whether or not to take a risk and that the Gov should keep us wrapped up in cotton wool and kept in a box!?, no thank you, I will determine what risks I take with MY body, and you should do as you see fit with yours, your thinking is that of the slave not the free man and I pity you and wish you freedom.

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

>>
>>619302
>expect the market to provide you
Show me where I say I expect the market to provide me with anything, all I'm saying is that I should be allowed to judge what risks I do or do not take with my own body, and if a product is available to buy then I should be the one to decide whether I buy it or not, by safety fagging all the time you make it possible for those would restrict us to act without concern for our natural rights.

Not sure. Here is what I have made so far:
Pancake mix biscuits.
Brownies
buttermilk biscuits
scrambled egg with veggies sort of omelet things
Poached eggs
flan
meatloaf

I cook most of my backpacking food in this thing because cooking with thin pots is just too hard otherwise.
This makes it so everything gets a slow cooked long window when its done. This keeps it pretty foolproof and I am always tending other things like pitching my tent while the cooking is happening.
