Hey guys, Britbong here. A lot of us missed out on the first 50 patches that were generously sent out by the OP. So I've enquired about getting the same design, in sew-on format, made for a second run of patches.

If I order a batch of 50 patches that are 3" across, combined with domestic/international shipping it looks like they'll be £3.50 each.

Anyone interested? I don't want to drop £100 and be stuck with a load of patches. Of course, you can order more than one if you want, and each extra patch would be around £2.30 more as shipping was already included in the first £3.50 e.g 2 patches for £5.80.

I'm not looking into making money of this it's just I genuinely wanted a patch and I assume there will be others like me out there.

Input would be appreciated including thoughts about another design rather than pic related, shapes, sizes blah blah.
>>
I missed the first 50 too. Definitely on board, OP.
>>
I like the design. Have you considered using a site like Etsy for folks to order from?

What'ya think, anons?

What is it with you brits and patches. I havent cared about a patch since boy scouts. Amerifag here. Not trying to be insulting. Just legitimately curious.
>The only Americans i see with patches are /k/ommando types.
>>
Yes I want one or two.
>>
>>484830
Weren't the majority of the patches sent to America?

I just think they'd be neat. No one who isn't from /out/ would identify it so we might be able to find each other in the wild.
>>
>>484830

I don't think it's limited to being "a brit thing". Not by a long shot.

That said, I quite like having a Union Jack patch somewhere on the back of my pack because it lets the others know who's beating them to the top.
>>
>>484861

Also that's probably only because the guy making them posted the thread when the majority of Brits wouldn't actually be awake yet.
>>
>>484781
Can you post a link for where you got the patches made? Canadian here and I don't want to convert my currency to cuckbucks to get a patch
>>
>>484866

...You'll fucking have to if you want to use a patch making service based in the UK you mongoloid. Google one based in Canada, it's not hard.

Minimum spend was like £30 for one patch. Plus it's a UK company anyway.

Is this website legit? Can I get a patch from here, no funny business?
>>
>>484885
Oh, it will be if I order the patches lol, but until then nothing will happen, your money will be rejected. Also it's paypal only.

I'm trying to work out if I buy the patches whether or not I can sell them all and not lose a hundred quid.

Basically do you guys think 50 patches will be sold?
>>
>>484888

If you get in before all those other guys offering to do it, I'd say yes. I'd even consider picking up another one but I'm not a definite.
>>
>>484888
I'll definitely buy one or two patches, and I know lots of people will as well. It might be worthwhile making a strawpoll to get some numbers.
>>
I would definitely get one; I missed out in the first round. I'd be tempted to get two if the supply wasn't limited, but I don't want to be greedy and prevent some other anon from getting one.

Hopefully you don't mind shipping to the US of A.
>>
>>484894
Nah, international shipping is fine.

>>484894
I think I'll go with 50 of the round design and if they all sell, then great. If not we'll knock it on the head.

If they do sell though, then we'll all know we have a reliable shop and can start producing more designs etc for production and sale.

>outpatch.tictail.com
>>
>>484897

Sounds good, is there a time frame for production and shipping?

Going to be spending my whole summer working outside in the middle of nowhere so I'll be surprised by anyone recognizing it

>>
>>484937
do you want to set up an email account with gmail or whatever where people can communicate directly with you, or do you want to do it here, or what?
>>
I'd love to get one as well. Missed out on the first batch being in Japan.
>>
>>484888
Original Outpatch guy here, if you're shipping International you'll have no problem shifting the lot, especially if you're allowing multiples to be bought. I had a 100 people who missed out, plus of the original 50 I know quite a few people wanted more than one. That's not including all the people who bottled sending a stranger their credentials but would be willing to purchase from a storefront. How many of these there are, I can't say.

I think as it stands, Ausbro is the only other one doing a round bear patch and he was gonna keep it within Australia and NZ, so you should shift all 50 no problem. You might even be best of ordering 100 but if it will be a continuous thing then yeah, get 50. Sell em then get 50 more. These fuckers are popular!

Fair play and good on you mate for taking over.

Fair play to >>484986 as well. I want me a shield patch!
>>
>>485027

I think it would be cool if the respective countries added a little flair to their patches. Like the uk ones could have a rose on it, perhaps laying on the table. Australian ones could have the southern cross constellation in the air above the bear and the american ones could have a cop murdering a black child in the background.
>>
>>485033

That's just fucked up bro....

This. Plus the fact that hating on america is getting really old. Do you not realize the majority of the american public fucking HATES what our government is doing? It's a tragedy. But we have no control over it because america is NOT a democracy. Literally the most corrupt government in the world. And when I say government i include police forces. Our police are aweful. We hate them just as much as you do.
>>
>>485033
Used my refund from when /pol/'s #pantsupdontloot billboard fell through to order two patches in honor of you, anon.

As to the actual point of your post, as much as I like the idea of a variant of the patch for every country, I'm not sure how practical it would be given that these patch manufacturers generally require bulk orders, at least to get patches at a reasonable price.
>>
>>484986
No, but paypal takes 3.5% and a 20p charge. I included that in the cost of the patch though.

OP here, it is happening. You can order now if you like, but you're welcome to wait until I actually get the patches from the manufacturers, which may be up to 10 days apparently. I'll post proof when they come.

Be aware though that I haven't even said they're for sale yet and 13 patches/50 have already been sold lol.

Officially though, THE SHOP IS NOW OPEN, and all patches must go!

Merrowed means the edge has that rounded stitching on the edge of the patch, which yours appears to be simply cut and stitched. Merrowing produces higher-quality patches and is what you see on most patches.

I could always be mistaken and your edge is merrowed after all. It just appeared that it wasn't.

My ones are out of stock for now bro, you'll need to use:

otheroutstore.tictail.com/product/ursa-major-patch

If he has any left that is. These are really popular.

>>488111
Sorry man but for me personally setting up a system that accepted credit cards was too much work/ extra fees/ less privacy. Just make a paypal? It takes a couple of minutes.
>>
>>488111
You can pay with PayPal without creating an account, just using them as a card processor. The options is on the checkout page.

This goes for any website that uses PayPal as a payment processor. Don't let it stop you in future.
>>
>>488117
wtf are you talking about you can accept credit cards with paypal.
>>
>>488145
I didn't know you can use paypal to process credit cards. I meant I had disabled the credit card option on the site so that paypal was the only way to buy stuff, whether with a card or just with a regular paypal account. Get me?
>>
>>488132
different guy but i didn't know this thanks man
i'nm not setting up a paypal account just to buy a patch but when the circular ones get back in stock i'll buy one with my credit card
also since the stickers were a pretty popular surprise have either of the patch guys thought about adding them to their shops?
>>

Allrighty friends! First wave of patches has been sent.

For people living in Europe, you can expect your patch within the next 3 days. People living in the rest of the world will have to wait a bit longer, up to a week (or so I have been told).
So keep a look out for that mailman! And dont forget to post a picture of your patch once you get it.

In other news: I still have 12 patches left, and I need to sell them all to break even. So please, keep them orders comming.

Thanks to everyone who purchased a patch so far. The ones in Europe are far and between, but I still hope to run into one of you one day.
>>
>>488752

Will be in the Lake District in England next weekend with my friend, sporting our new patches of course.

Wow, what a properly nice patch! You were right, the pics really didn't do it justice. Shame it's not merrowed, but I think the flat cut edge kinda suits the shield design anyway. Regardless, I couldn't be happier. Thanks for the effort and time put into this dude!

Also, you didn't write this out 50 times did you? That must have been a killer. At first I thought it was your own words but a little Googling reveals it's an existing poem. Son I am disappoint. You, sir, are a LIAR and a FRAUD!

It was a nice gesture and a great little surprise. Much appreciated!

Did anybody get the round patch yet? I wanted to take it into the mountain and shoot a great pic, but i have to leave my german mailbox tuesday.
>>
>>485900
Just ordered one of these, they look really nice.
>>
>>490575
Nah man, I don't think they've been shipped (or even manufactured) yet. They're effectively a pre-order at this point.

Could be a scam for all I know. Yes, of course you will receive your "patch", just pay me some monies and I'll send you one as soon as I get them. That's the ultimate cynical view, but it has been quite some time without update from OP and it does start to make you wonder.
>>
>>490677
No updates man, cos' nothing has happened other than I increased the quantity being sent to me from the suppliers. I think I said when I put the first link to the shop that I was just trying to get people's opinion on the shop front and thoughts on what patches to order etc and if the shop looked okay. I didn't really mean for this thread to be the 'sale' thread until I actually got them.

Well, people started buying them anyway! Basically the buyers have to wait twice. Once for me to get the patches, and then again as I send them individually. So rest assured, although a promise from some anon over the internet might not be that reassuring, that they will come to you eventually.
>>
>>490721

In other news: All shield patches are gone!
I wont order new ones since these barely sold, so everyone who has one, count yourself lucky, you own one of 50 unique /out/ patches.
Ill prep the last of the orders and send them out on thuesday again.
Ill make one last update once I do and then drop the trip.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen, the people who funded this by buying a patch and I hope I will one day see a stranger walking around with a patch that has a bear at a picknick table on it.

I don't think anyone is currently in the process of making this one. It was never that popular compared to the other two designs so I'm not sure a big batch order could have been justified.

Would anyone be interested in T-Shirts? If we can make an order of 30 they would only cost $11.87 each shirt. I have an account set up and ready to go.
Reply back to this if anyone is interested. The shirts would be prepayed. I don't want to get stuck with a bunch of shirts. You wouldn't give me the payment info, or anything. It's legit. Not making money off these either.

I also thought the badge design would look cool on the sleeve. It costs $1.50 more per shirt, but it would look pretty swell.
>>
>>491688
I should mention that is the quote for American Apparel t-shirts. They have some cheaper ones as well.

this looks like they were a gift from the original patch anon for those who missed out on the first batch of production but applied for it anyway giving the address.

it was a pleasant surprise from an anon who never asked money for it.

not sure if someone is going to produce more sticker soon, maybe we should create a store with some merchandise on the internet
>>
Any Amerifriends receive their patch yet?

Not yet. Ordered both round and shield patch.
>>
>>493129
I thought this was a bad idea and was vocal about it in previous threads but now that I see demand for /out/ patches and stickers it's something I think should be considered
100 round patches were snapped up almost immediately and the shield ones took less than a week to shift 50 and of course most of those people aren't gonna want another patch but plenty of people do and stocking the round patches permanently on the /k/ store would imo result in regular sales

Does anyone know the numbers the /k/ store does?
I know nothing about it but I assume the 10 current available patches are permanent so they must sell semi regularly
>>
>>493106
Nope. I ordered mine in the first batch... Does anyone know where they are shiiping from?

Hope you don't mind me posting the poem you sent. Can't believe I'm a little moved by somebody from 4chan. You da best, /out/.
>>
>>494889
he set up the store before he had any patches shipped to him so he would be ready when sales began but before he announced the patches were for sale people bought them
if people had waited for him to have them then the wait wouldn't have been so long but now they have to wait for manufacture of the patches, then shipping to the anon running the store, then postage from anon to you
keep in mind the guy's doing it for free so he's gonna be making as few trips to the post office as possible and he's not trying to go too far out of his way for this
also keep in mind that you were actually lucky enough to order one of the first 50, there are plenty of people waiting for him to order more patches and put them up for sale before they can even begin to wait for him to send them

Round patch guy here. I should get them anytime this Monday onwards. It was ten working days but we've had two bank holidays and Easter since then which added to the delay.

>>495006
This guy gets it. I don't mind making the extra trips to the post office and whatever but my hands are tied till I get the damn things. I can't do anything till then.

As I said before though I have increased the order quantity but they won't go online till these 50 are gone in order to minimise the time they have to wait for their patches.

Also, interesting side story: Two people on here have the exact same name. I thought there had been an order error or something but one is from Oz, and one from Murrica.
