I like to push boulders down steep hills and video it. Today I found an excellent candidate for pushing but this thing is heavy. How could I go about doing this? I tried pushing it with a large branch underneath but it didn't even budge.

I'm thinking maybe a jack but getting to the boulder is kinda difficult and carrying a jack might be tough, although if it came in pieces i could carry the parts one at a time.

Any ideas?

And this is a side shot.

Also getting here is kinda hard. Not only is the climb kinda steep but it's through thick foliage and moss covered wet rocks/bedrock. Also you can see it's snowing so that also makes it slippery.

Trish: A sad, strange story in local news tonight, Jim.

Earlier this morning, hikers found the crushed, nude body of a young area Anon at the bottom of a gorge amid the shattered remains of a truck-sized boulder. The search and rescue crew that recovered the body is utterly baffled over the circumstances that led to this.

Forensics experts attempting to reconstruct the accident had to cross dangerously steep and slippery terrain to reach where it appears the Anon and boulder fell from, and they discovered a "bizarre assortment of levers, cameras, and petroleum jelly".

Clip of rescue crew member: "It would appear the Anon was filming himself dislodging the boulder, and things went awry. It may have been some sort of sexual ritual that got out of hand. We're still looking into it."

Trish: Well, whatever the cause for this outrageous display of faggotry, it has most certainly "rocked" the community.

Jim: Too true, Trish. Too true.

Easy. Use a spud bar and a rock and lever it. Place smaller stones under it every so often as you lever it up until it finally goes. If you don't have a spudbar, use a 4 inch thick log about 6 feet long.

You can use a bottle jack too. I move a lot of stone and normally use leverage instead of bottle jacks. I only use the jacks when there's no way to fit a lever under the stone.

The largest I've moved was 6 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 4 feet high.

Though, I was moving them to a building sight, not just doing it for the lulz.

There's no laws against moving rocks, you faggot.
>>
>>478193
Actually, there is. Quite a few. From not being allowed to move them off of hillsides to not being allowed to move them out of streams, rivers, and beaches. Doing so, causes erosion and deposits silt down stream/river. You can get a pretty steep fine if you get caught and possible jail time. In other places, like in parks it is a whole other can of worms.

Here's some googled examples of Erosion and Sediment Control laws, which govern everything from building sites to general activity like what the OP is doing:

Most E&S restrictions have a minimum threshold of liability based on area of disturbance sometimes as low as 5k sqft but usually 1 acre. Boulder pushing isn't regulated normally by CWA, 404, and similar state and federal laws.

That MA ch91 is pretty clear though, boulder pushing is not allowed. There are probably similar rules everywhere just not specifically in the regs you mentioned and a couple of those pertain specifically to removal from stream beds and banks which I wouldn't call "boulder pushing".

Just sayin' it's probably not legal, but not because of the laws you cited.(other than MA)
