The thread last time seemed to be fairly popular so I figured if people were interested this could become a regular thing. Feel free to put in your favourite /out/ films below and discuss what you did and didn't like.

I asked about Into the Wild last time and I'm pretty glad I watched it. It wasnt entirely focused on the outdoors but it did it pretty well.

On my watchlist I have Jeremiah Johnson and Dersu Uzala, mentioned in the previous thread. Any thoughts on those two? I have heard Jeremiah Johnson is pretty good but havent really heard much else. Also feeling like watching a western. I havent seen any of the For A Fistful of Dollars films, they are classics but are they /out/?

I am also maintaining my recommendation of Stalker. The slow pacing may turn people off but I found it very introspective, and the scenery was nice too. Not a thrilling film but if you have the time it's a nice one to sit back and take in

This is a list of films not necessarily about going /out/, but there are certain /out/ elements in all of them.

Dead Man, Moonrise Kingdom, Papillon, Valhalla Rising, Lord of the Flies, Antichrist, The King is Alive, The Blue Lagoon, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Fitzcarraldo, Stand by Me, Ashes of Time.

If you like the slow pace in Tarkovsky's films, then I'll recommend you Let Each One Go Where He May. When I watched it, it reminded me of Tarkovsky's dragging of scenes and how this affects our experience of time. The entire movie feels like a drag but if you can get into it, it's almost meditative (also it's very /out/).

The Great Silence (1968).

There are childish (but enjoyable) films like Wilderness Family 1-3 and The Snow Walker (2003) and Never Cry Wolf (1983).

If you like more serious films, I recommend Walkabout (1971). When you're at it why not to watch Wake Up In Fright (1971). It's not really /out/, but it's set in remote parts of Australia and it's one of those movies you'll never forget.

Jeremiah Johnson is a real nice watch. Recommended.

I've had that since it became torrentable, but just can't seem to get started on it. Every time I think about it I think of reese witherspoon an start to imagine a whiny emotional chick flick set in the outdoors. Must get round to it soon.

This.

Princess Mononoke is by far my favorite. Although, despite my overwhelming love of the outdoors I haven't watched many correlating movies :b.

But yeah, Princess Mononoke is /out/ as fuck.

Meek's Cutoff. Kind of a surreal movie about settlers crossing the Oregon Trail and not knowing where they're going. Slow pace but I thought it was a good watch.

I never see anyone mention Ravenous. Worth watching, Robert Carlyle is very good in it.

Not all that much but they're good movies.
Jeremiah Johnson and The Outlaw Josey Wales are both fantastic westerns though. Worth watching both for sure.

Rather than start the same thread over from the beginning and end up with the same posts from new people, perhaps we could try starting the thread with a list of the previous recommendations, so we build new content from there.

washed up heroin whore needs to literally separate herself a thousand miles from cock to not jump on it every chance she gets, complains about outdoors
>>
>>650072

>>
>>650712
Yeah it is. Except they are no zombies.
>>
>>650716
what were they? It's been some years since I've seen it, where the monster things the guys from the last expedition?
>>
>>650717

blind, pale skin, etc...

It was really spooky
>>
>>650720
