alright /o/, how the FUCK do you tell if a car is 180sx/200sx/240sx ? one day i see a car called 180sx and then next time the same car is called 240 sx ? is there any difference ? only thing i can tell apart is different gens (s13/14/15) but thats about it.

180sx is a japanese version of S13 which originally came with SR20DET. 200sx is an european version of S13 which came with CA18DET. 240sx is an american version of S13 which originally came with KA24DE. Your picrel is a japanese exclusive coupe, not sure if it was available in Australia.

That is an S12 which indeed was called 200sx in some places regardless of engine (some had VG30 engines). The other one is a 200sx (at least what they are called in america) based off the sentra with an SR20DE.

Also important to note technically only the hatchbacks are '180/200sx' the coupes and convertibles in Japan did not have popups and were called Silvias, so there's that difference. The 180sx was a sister car to the Silvia much like the sprinter was to the corolla

180SX is the Japanese S13 with pop-ups. All sorts of CA18 and SR20 engines.
200SX is either the S12 OR the S13 for the European/UK market, CA18DET only.
240SX is the American S13 with the truck engine.

There are 'chassis codes' and there are marketing names.
S13, S14 and S15 are chassis codes from the VIN.
180sx, 200sx, 240sx, and Silvia are Marketing names.
180sx was sold outside the US from 1989 with a CA18DE(T). In 1991, the motor was changed to an SR20DE(T) until 1998. All 180sx's are S13s.
In most places other than JPN and US a 200sx was an S10, S110, S12, S13, S14 or S16 depending on year. There were a variety of motors.
200sx was an entirely different car (B14) in the US market.
240SX was a USDM variant with either a KA24E (1989-1990) or a KA24DE (1991 - 1998). This covers S13 and S14 chassis.
Silvia's are fixed headlight CSP311, S10, S110, S12, S13, S14 and S15 Sold in Japan/Aus, and S14/15 in EU. They had a wide variety of motors, none of them KA24.
