M1 wasn't a "production" car. Just a limited run to meet homologation for racing. BMW has never made "supercars" and probably never will. Neither has Mercedes really.
But BMW has GT1 championships and powered F1 cars for 20 years until 2009.. Audi hasn't.
New BMW M8 all but confirmed. Trademark applications confirmed. Talk of 650+ Hp in a carbon fibre body weighing in at no more than 2800 lbs. MSRP north of $250000.
