If you insist on doing a 10-sec. 1/4-mile, it really doesn't matter what you get because you WILL need chassis reinforcement as well as an entirely new powertrain. Any weight advantage the 240 has would be moot.
What you SHOULD do is buy whatever S30 you want, put money into both the engine and chassis, and challenge your coworker to 3 laps around the nearest road course.
