The suspension and chassis on the Mustang is fantastic. It feels way better to drive than a miata.

I'm the guy you replied to. I actually considered the newest generation Mustang, but it costs more than twice the amount of an mx5 here (even the ecoboost), so I'll stick to that. I'm still looking forward to try it, I extremely dig its style, even the interior surpassed the former models. Too bad the local ford dealership didn't have any to test drive.
And I don't see how I'm wrong, I didn't want to discredit the new Mustang, I merely wanted to point out that horsepower was never the mx5's strong side, it's just not its purpose. I think my point still stands.

I'll play, because I bought a '13 BRZ new, have test driven the new Miata amd love sports cars in general. Pic related, it's my BRZ.
The BRZ is stiffer and takes to sticker rubber out the gate, it also jas 4 seats making it more useful, more importantly, more justifiable both to yourself and to others. That mattered when I bought mine. Obviously now it doesn't to me lol.
If you were in the marlet for a new $25k sports car it'd be a tough choice the brz is more practically shaped amd made however the ride amd powertrain are pess loveable as daily while the miata is easier to live with daily in terms of motor and suspension its less useful.
For me the BRZ still wins as sports car/trackslut because it comes alive at the top, you get rewarded for pushing it hard, the miata is happier having fun in the mid range.
Bith are fucking great cars. Mazda also has awesome contingency support if you're going racing and plenty of serires vuilt around it, something the brz currently doesn't.
C/n: you cant love one without atleast liking the the other. They are the same in many ways.
