I agree. If anything, Lotus is a bit overrated. In terms of truly excellent cars, they haven't actually put out that many.
Lancia, on the other hand, really isn't remembered that fondly, though they should. OP's Delta HF Integrale and the Stratos are remembered, but the Fulvia was excellent (though expensive) and the Rally 037 was a berzerker.
I can't think of another company that's accomplished as much and is still broadly thought-of as incompetent.

Its not underrated, nor is it overrated. It is the standard. Every car, no matter how big, how small, fast, powerful, light, heavy, they all have to be considered in front of this. If you manufacture a sedan that is not more reliable, cheaper, or faster, than there is no reason for that car to exist. That is the measure of the Corolla, the ability to not exceed nor usurp the standard, no, the itself Corolla is the standard.
