Is 110,000 miles too many to consider buying a 1996 Corvette?

Is 110,000 miles too many to consider buying a 1996 Corvette?

>lt4 engine

>6 speed

Yes, unless it's some graying boomer selling his "baby"
>>
Apparently not if it's still worth 8k. And aren't your big American engines known to run hundreds of thousands of miles without a hiccup?
>>
no but not at that price, like half that maybe
>>
>>15383003
>C4

No. At that price range you can get into a C5, which is vastly superior.
>>
asking way too much for it, first of all.

second of all for half that you could buy a lower mileage c5 and slap some headers on it.

move on. find another one.
>>
Where are you people finding C5s at those prices?

I can't find one for less than 10 grand anywhere close to me.

I know the ls engines will run forevever. What about the older style small blocks?

LT's have known issues with the optispark but it's not as prevalent in the later model years, at it's core it still a small block chevy.

If it's the car in OP's picture then it could be worth it. Fiske FM5s are expensive wheels and the LT4 makes it more desirable.

>8500
>C5 in any decent shape

O i'm laffin, c5 is like twice that
>>
Why would ever buy a car with that many miles? You want to buy an eight thousand dollar headache?
>>
$8500 for a 96? I'd jump on that right away if it was in my area. 110k miles is fine.
>>
Blue book value for this suggests from 6k (Fair condition) to 7.9k (Excellent condition). So it seems hes asking a bit much. For mileage, that depends on how often you'll be driving it. Living in PA, I only put around 3k miles on each year. By December, it goes into storage until March. Even high mileage like that shouldn't be a problem, what really matters is if it has set a long time for problems to develop.

Friend bought a squarebody w/350 smallblock at 150k. Lifters started raising hell at 175k and have since been replaced. He's at 230k with no problems since.

Bought a Corolla at 130k and drove it hard until 170k. Go totaled by some drunk brodude. No problems in between.

My current Honda was bought at 140k and I'm at 155k. Only had to replace the radiator cause some turd muncher cracked the fuck out of it.

Old cars ain't always a problem.

You can find a decent C5 with <100k for 10k-12k easy.

I don't know where the fuck you live, but in the first world, C5's are entering the 7k to 10k area.

Around here (New England) I'd expect a car like that to actually sell for around 6K.
