I want to give my off road vehicle more suspension travel. It's a macpherson strut design, so in theory i just need to lengthen the strut travel length.
Who sells long travel strut inserts? I tried the koni and bilstein sites, but they aren't really friendly to browsing by size, instead by vehicle application and i have no idea what has both strut inserts and a lot of travel.

Well, since i'm not a seppo poof i'd just call up my local pedders and get them to think something up, reckon any good suspension place will have ideas if you just grow a pair, walk in/call up, tell them what you need for what pos

yeah im not trying to buy someone else's work. i have the skills to make these (made coilovers for my racecars before) i've just never had to shop for long travel strut inserts before and the sites make it impossible to look fro what i need.

most suspension places will say i can't do it because i'll compromise the cv boot angle and anyhow i don't have a pedders, this is america

Considering, however i don't think shocks are built to withstand the sideloading that it would see by acting as a strut. I think strut inserts have bearings and other strengthening methods built in.
