So dbt I'm new round these parts and relatively new to riding about 9 months in those 9 months I have gone down twice one was because I was being retarded riding at night in the rain on roads I don't know the other I got brake checked by an asshole pulling out of a neighborhood had nowhere to go but the gravel been 6 months since my accident and bike needs new tires and clutch also some buffing and a new grip and maybe a new tank... knee put a good dent into it... on the gravel drop...so what do you guys think... pick up a new bike and fix this one up later and give it to my dad or just fix it and hold off on a new bike for a while I love the bike but it's not quite what I'm looking for... also needs a 6th gear 4k at 55 is a little rough for a bike that tops off at 8600 so what does /o/ think

How long's the commute? You might want to try a phase-change cooling jacket. They work for 30-40 minutes, you can find them PPE gear suppliers (or pay extra from some asshole reselling them for bikers). You stick them in the fridge before you leave (they work in ambient air too, just takes a hell of a lot longer), and they maintain a constant temperature until the entirety of the phase-change material melts.

In my expirience youre always good if just just get to a camping site and ask if you can stay the night. If they are full, theyll tell you where to sleep instead.

To clarify, I take the bike out at 4.30am for work, warm it through, daily checks, ride up the road, feel for any wobbles and check both brakes' operation (Joys of an old bike), then full lean in like 2-3 minutes. Bit scary in the wet cause >coldtyres but pretty good desu
