2nd gen Ram 2500/3500 IF it is 100% rust free.
3/4 ton being preferred for both the GM and Ford. The stronger drivetrains hold up better and last longer.

Mine lasted to 400k miles, and the last 40k without an oil change because I'm a piece of shit.
Engine never died, but it was also the (bulletproof) 4.2 V6.
Only reason it died was an electrical problem that made every light stay on when it was off.

Deeper gears in the 2500/3500 ease some of the strain on the transmission.

No idea what you're referring to. If it's the ball joints, the heavy 5.9 (Cummins) is going to come with a D60 front with much larger ball joints that do support the weight. If you're referring to wheel bearings, the 2nd gen uses unit bearings, which are likely a combination of tapered roller bearings and needle bearings, no ball bearings. And again, the diesels are going to come with larger unit bearings that hold up to the weight better.
