Only other car id recommend is the Ford Fusion hybrid since you can drive it on only electric power up to like 30mph.

Leaf sucks for serious driving. That being said my family has one my mom drives to work (one mile away) and as a grocery getter and its perfect for that. But we have regular gas burners for any longer drives. Prius if it will be your main car, because you cant rely on only an electric car for everything. Leaf if it will be used around town and you have another car too.

Bought my gf's prius from her dad who let the car sit after buying his wife a new prius. 3 months later we had to spend $3500 on a new battery.
