I don't know, it's built pretty tough. Steering was sketchy, especially around corners because of all the play. Tie rod ends are worse, it'll be tomorrow or later before I get the kit to take those out though.
The rod coming out of the ball joint is bent, that probably happened in the wreck though, the spindle it was connected to snapped. It's supposed to be pointing straight up and down right now.

Ran into a slight problem trying to press out the upper bushings, the arm wants to hit the bottle jack. Waiting on a friend to bring a bigger (larger diameter) impact set so I can press the arm down around the bushing instead of pressing the bushing through the arm.
I went ahead and bought a hf 20t press because to have the pressed in and out around here I was quoted $160 and up. Well shit, a press is only 170.
Gonna start letting friends use it for $5 a bushing I think.

Trans has been built by local speed shop, may need refreshed.
Engine: lq9 6.0, ls3 heads/intake/rails/injectors, comet thin gasket for a compression of around 10.6:1, mail order tune and re-tune by frost, couple aluminum pulleys (original plastic ps pulley broke and left me stranded in 2007), rocker upgrade.
Racetronix walbro 255 (needs wiring kit installed)
Pacesetter 1.75 primary headers, 3 inch merge, 3 inch pipe through an x, bullets, and dumped before the rear
New bolts throughout.
Probably a few other things I'm forgetting, had the car since 03.
No egr, air, cats, air con
To do in the next couple weeks:
Moog bushings and ball joints
Shocks (have not decided which)
New wheel hubs and speed sensors
Smallish cam (218-220 intake duration) and springs
Headlight for drivers side
Either a 32mm ws6 or a 35mm strano swaybar, I went to get a 32mm the other day when I picked up the fender, but they gave me a 30mm.
I'll wait a couple months and do the rear suspension (it's in equally bad shape, I'm sure)

I hope so, I'm hoping the smaller cam keeps power down low, it's a cruiser after all and i like that low end power. I don't go the track often, the last time was a couple years ago, but even with the tiny (stock lq9) cam the heads come alive after 3k, I'm sure they'll make decent top end regardless of cam. There is said to be a loss of lowend after you bolt these heads on a 6.0, I never felt it, car can still smoke the tires from 2k rpm in second.

Dynod in Evansville on a mustang-type dyno, made 285rwhp and 312 rwtq when stock.
I just learned that they have put one in in town down the Rd from the 1/8th mile track. I called them the other day about a tune after the cam. $550, the tuner comes in from out of town and they work on it for the day. I don't know anyone whose gone there though. I have the name of a local guy whos supposed to be pretty good, he tunes on the street. Going to find out the name of the out of town guy that dyno tunes and see what his story is. The local dyno is a dynojet, so the new numbers won't be an apples to apples comparison, unfortunately.
It just so happens so that the 16th is dyno day, 2 pulls for $50, I'm assuming they log your 02s and print you a pretty graph. I don't think I'm going to be ready, to much left to do.
My sleep schedule is weird. I'm the IT guy for a few small businesses around here and I'm always on call, but have a lot of free time. My girls a bartender (closes most every night) and we've gotten in a groove where we'll stay up until 5-7am sometimes. The neighbors don't seem to mind when I pull all nighters as long as I'm not being loud. Most of them have loud trucks or motorcycles and they all appear to be interested in what I'm doing under the carport. I don't think they care.

I was thinking about getting the cable and software and learning how to do it myself, as it's about the same price and I've been reading up on tuning for awhile. I will probably have someone else do it for right now, then eventually look at what parameters they have and what they've done compared to the stock program for the parts and go from there. Dunno though, that's future dreaming.
Remote tune, do they mail order you one depending on your mods and you load it in yourself then email correspondence back and forth working it out, or is it the tuning software and everything?

I've thought about forced induction. With the rectangle port heads it would be almost to easy to bolt on an ls9 supercharger, cheap these days too for a low mileage take-off unit. Was toying with the idea of 2 holset hx35s or hx40s for something that would last FOREVER, but they're physically huge.

Basically you they send the software key, the cable, and instructions. You just datalog by doing redline pulls, idling, light city driving and some highway. They then take that, make adjustments, and send you a new file to flash and test. 4-6 files usually gets you a pretty solid tune.
It's a longer process, but will be well worth it since it supposedly wakes up the engine substantially.
I've been debating forced induction, the MZR can take 300hp all day because of the internals. But why not take the few thousand dollars and get a faster car ? But at the same time, it would be sick to daily one of the only turboed or supercharged 2nd gen 6's ever in the US.
