Are "performance cruisers" a meme?

What about a cruiser enables worthwhile performance? There is such a thing as too much compromise.
>>
seems like they are just more expensive
just get something like a 1290 superduke
>>
Yes, look up the specifics of the diavel rear tyre for what these stupid compromises entail.
>>
Performance cruisers are not a meme. I like to think of them like muscle cars. They are big, comfy, and look fantastic but arent for cornering at all. But you just cant get over

>dat roar
>dat strait line power

I don't think you have any idea on the meaning of the word "meme".
>>
The "power cruiser" I don't get is the Honda valkyrie. It isn't a VMax, Diavel, or a Vrod. Its just a stripped Goldwing that for some reason is compared to power cruisers.

It's bloody big multi cylinder engine in a "cruiser" style motorcycle.
Doesn't have to be an independently designed platform to constitute a power cruiser.

You ever hear one of those Rocket3's wind up? Evil sounding things.

No, but your use of the term to indicate something that other people like something you don't is a meme.

That said, the power cruiser is a bit of a platypus. The whole point of a cruiser is, as the name suggests, cruising. They have large engines for easy, loping performance and being able to carry two American passengers.

Naturally someone was going to start seeing how much power they could get out of them.

The main problem with the power cruiser is its chassis. To remain a cruiser, it has to be comfortable, so there's a little flex and give. That makes it unable to effectively or safely put down all the power it has. If they wanted to go all the way with the "power", part it ends up being less comfortable, but still heavy has hell.

Buy a cruiser and a sportbike. That way you have the best of both worlds.

0-60 in under 4 seconds
Top speed at least 125mph
That's what I expect from a 'performance' cruiser.
It should have wheelspin on a dry hard launch if not a wheelie.

Best subjective measure of a "Performance Cruiser" IMO.

As long as they have a decent pipe, otherwise they sound a little bit too much like a generic car :P
