The main use for it will be on road. I've read that on road the X is more confident inspiring and more fun to ride. Also, I think you can swap a 21" front on the X easier than a 17" on the R.

The difference is I can find the Yamaha (usually the X) for about 2.5k€ here. The R is always a bit more expensive and rare, but could be bought for less than 3k too.
