New to this board, sorry if this is not an appropriate use of posting/ if theres a advice general thread

Looking to buy a car for harsh canadian winter.

budget is 5-7K CAD

Found this mustang
2002, 137K
, older model, but relatively low KM's

Listed for about 5200, i think it looks like a good deal. As far as i know ford parts are pretty easy to come buy.

Also been cautioned that mustangs are bad in winter due to RWD?

Definitely not a car expert, but figured mustangs wouldn't be that bad of a winter driver.

Any others with similar experience offer any insight?

no.

please elaborate;

Gas? historical issues?

Slow
>>
>>15344263
Basically it's a slow pile of shit and has a [justified] stigma against it; it's a car built around cheap performance that doesn't even do the performance part.

Fair points, trusting your expertise.

Seemed like good bang for the buck.

What would you reccomend with more power in m price range, thats a canadian winter driver, and i also wont be ashamed to be seen driving

Guess it depends on what you want to be seen in. A half-decent used truck or SUV would get you around in the snow no problem, but if you want something that looks alright an AWD Subaru or Audi from the mid-2000s would work

People advise against RWD for winter driving because FWD/AWD is easier for average tards to handle.
Start sliding with FWD, let off the gas.
Start sliding with RWD, stay on the gas and countersteer. Two actions, so it's at least one more thing than most drivers can handle at once

Either this guy is master troll, or he really doesn't know that /o/ is the most cancerous board on 4chan.

Few years ago I had a v6 Mustang. I'm from nova Scotia. It was pretty slippery but pretty fun riding in circles in parking lots sliding everywhere. But is actually hated. Just not by this board. I'd say once a month it would be keyed or garbage left on it.

01 here and yes they can't drive in snow/ice for shit here in N.Wisconsin

More like FUN in winter, unless you can't drive for shit.
