Yes this does make me sad. My Miata isn't lowered but maybe 1/2 inch from stock (the V-MaxxXXxxxXxXx-es are set pretty much as high as they go in the rear and set to be basically level on front; I think it was 14.5" center of hub to fender arch apex). The thing is that my car is a shitheap. The front and rear bumpercovers are shot, the paint's fucked from years in the desert sun (and I don't have the money to get it repainted properly), a few highly-salted winters have seen the rocker panels starting to rust, the leather seats are dried out and all sorts of cracked up, I think a baffle's broken a little loose in the muffler (rattle when cold out), and the engine bay is grimy because I couldn't into properly sealing the oil lines for the turbo and oil cooler kit. Goddammit I put it all together myself but it's a shitshow because I fuck everything up.
