Anyone know how to properly handle the buying of a gray market car? It was imported from Germany. Should I expect to have trouble selling it if I do decide to buy it? Should I look for a bigger discount? Any advice/tips would be appreciated.

Used car exports below 3000€ for brands like BMW and Mercedes usually are leftovers intended for the eastern european market.
However, if you're exporting something unique this may not apply.
See if the car has a valid "HU" due date, if it lies in the past or only has a few months left, then this means the car either failed to pass inspection or the owner has no hopes of having it pass and thus put it on the export market. Which essentially means something is broken.

It might be different with older cars that only conform to the Euro 1 emisson standard, since running those brings a hefty carbon tax.

post the offer link and your country and I might offer some more advice

You can always part it out.

Thanks for the replies.
Sorry for the lack of details.
The car I'm interested is a 2010 Porsche 911 4S. It was imported from France to the US around 8 months ago. I'm thinking about buying it from this Indian dude who says he travels for work and is only with the car for 3 days a week.
The VIN is
WP0ZZZ99ZAS746474

Also what is a HU due date?

I'm also concerned if I'm going to have trouble insuring the car if I decide to buy it and also if it breaks down for some reason if I can have the parts easily replaced.

Is it worth it? Should I haggle the price down very low if I decide to buy it? I'm not sure what to expect. It all feels very fishy tbqh.
