No it wasn't. They could and should have based that car around the Viper's powertrain but instead left it limp wristed with the V6/Auto combination.

They made excuses but really, the Prowler is an example of bean counter influence and don't hurt the flagship (Viper) mentality.

Sad because it was one mean looking Plymouth.

>wrong about things

Prowler was a testbed for a new design/manufacturing process, and while they were figuring out what to build they said "fuck it, let's make something that looks cool"

It was only after the suits saw it that they decided to put it into production. It was always designed to use LH powertrain and gear, because that's what they had lying around

>Viper powertrain.

Not without making the car a whole fuck of a lot longer, higher, and wider, for no organizational benefit whatsoever since Viper has always been handbuilt.

Yes and no.
The originals were designed in the '60s as just modded beetle floorpans with custom fibreglass shells. They were produced for a time but went bankrupt after the designs were stolen and lots of fakes and replicas were made. They started again with a new design a few years ago and thats where the gta v ones come from

Quite easy really, the 700 series has a flatter front end whereas the one in the 900 is slightly concave. Also the trunk lid sits higher in the 900 series.
Facelifted 700's have a slightly rounder front, but not 900 tier yet.

The transmission is just... it's the basic Chrysler autostick, but made to feel sportier by adding in hard shifts when it does so. The interior is pretty much basic Corporate Chrysler plastic with some 'fancy' touches, like the tach sticking through a hole cut in the steering column. The lower front lip of the grill sticks out and you need to get used to it or it will get bumped on a lot of things. The visibility is very poor, the back is high and the tiny windshield don't help. You sit decently low in them, but visibility out of them is not great. The other thing of note is, as they were made in a limited number as their purpose was to study various new manufacturing methods and such (for Chrysler, not new overall) they are still $30-$40k for an unmolested one. Mostly they're just kind of disappointing to drive, hard to see out of and still decently priced, but not necessarily appreciating enough to be worthwhile as an investment at this time-they cost comparable to a new car while new they were $38-45K. Basically, they are still somewhat costly, while factoring in inflation means money has been lost for the owner. I believe Allpar has a short article detailing some other issues, but if you love them, it's nothing too unreasonable. They're cool, they still look good enough that people stop and check them out or compliment them, and they do deliver on being fun.
I love them way too much to care about all that. If someone had the money I'd recommend the Panoz Roadster instead-both use similar styling cues, but the Panoz will hold value better, perform better and be easier to see out of and has a likely higher overall build quality, and at the moment I've seen some listings putting them in the same bracket as the Prowler, along with rumors that the car will make a return.

I just don't care. This is in my eyes the prettiest car ever built. This car is the reason why I'm a huge fan of Toyotas (both in racing and in generaly). Sadly, it's basically impossible to ever own (even getting an accurate replica made would probably cost way more than I'd ever earn)

A baja. In this specific color and trim, with the top lights.

I cant explain why. there's something undeniably... I dont know. "90's" about it, even though it came out in the early 00's, when that mid-late 90's obsession with Hawaii/California beaches was over

We all do, Anon. We all do. Even GM does.

maybe someday, if cars are allowed to be cars again, GM might pull a fast one and bring it back from the dead. They actually still offer pontiac customer support, and pontiac mail, which is kinda sweet. GM's full of shit when they say they dont miss the brand

I know its an over glorified go-kart.

Recently started building my own. Have the CAD design for it. Trying to figure out what tube framing is used on the atom before I buy.

I remember way back when it seemed like this was the design of choice for those $1 Hot Wheels and any other 'hot rod' design for cars as toys or in video games.

My buddy has one-with a rim swap and some wider tires, it'll float over shit a quad would get stuck in. And it has those rad Cold War looks.

Yeah, I was pretty pissed off because on top of her getting rid of it, she never asked me if I wanted to buy it. Instead, traded it in for $4500 off a Navigator about 6-7 years ago
