i'm telling myself to wash my car for the last 2 weeks but its raining every other day

havent washed my truck in 5 years, havent washed either cars well over 2 years.
it rains often enough it melts the dirt and oil right off.

I do have 2 buckets, but only one is gritguarded, pls no bully
So I bought a used car with some decals on the sides. They look too boyracer for me, but I figure they're more trouble to take off than its worth. That being said, how do I clean/polish/wax a car with decals? Do I ignore the decals entirely? Wash around them? Wash them but only polish and wax the body?
In the end would it be easier to just ditch the decals

I want to take off the big ones, it's a big pattern. But there's thin lines on each side that are really nicely done so I want to leave those alone.
Do you need anything special to get rid of decals?
