If German brands are so good then why do they have such a reputation for quality and reliability problems? Seems like they just skate by on their badge.

They have more moving parts. Faggots that want to treat them like a shitty Honda and do not to proper maitence. Lastly people who think you should never have to change your alternator, radiator etc.

You should never have to change your alternator and radiator and if your car does then it's flawed by design.

The rich don't even drive their cars that often anyways.

>It's reliable, it's never failed me on my trips to the country club

etc.

This. Cars should be built to last, not built to last until the warranty runs out and then fall apart.

They should last the life of the car easily. Meaning if you simply drive the car from 0 miles to 200k miles and then junk it the alternator will still be working.

Obviously if you rebuild the engine and replace whatever breaks and put a million+ miles on your car you will need to change your alternator.

They are fine for the life of the three year lease.

Because most people treat their vehicles like an appliance. An enthusiast maintains their vehicle. BMWs require maintained which is beyond the scope of most people. I drove a 1970 Fiat for years that was reliable as a Honda. Granted I had to set the points every other week which included removing the distributor completely but it was no big deal for me.

It's dadvice and momvice.
Bitter parents who cheer and make a mental note every time they see an expensive car on a tow truck.

*then this gets passed down from parent to child through the generations
