>tfw you can't buy a pickup truck for a near decent price on craigslist during the summer

This is gonna take awhile aint it. Unless they're asking a stupid amount of money, these trucks are gone within seconds. A van or suv would probably work but I don't think I'd get too bored driving a van for personal use and freelancing when I already have a work van I drive 8 hours a day.

I'm going to check out a 97 taco tomorrow, the price sux, and I have to drive 3 hours to get there in a race against other people. I don't know if it's even worth it.

Tacos go for stupid amounts of money. Get a new one or don't. Used is not worth it. F150 or Silvy is your best bet. And yeah, summertime isn't the best time to buy a car. If you can wait, November and December are best because people selling shit for xmas money.

im afraid f150's and silverados are all memed out too, my friend

your best bet is an SUV, then just purchase a utility cart when, and you can use it only when you need a truck bed

Yes, actual practical vehicles cost more than A to B shitboxes.

I could buy a mint low mile half ton for a decent price no problem.

Buying a mint low mile 3/4 or 1 ton for a decent price? Impossible.

Try buying a diesel in Alberta.

2nd gen cummins, 600000km, rusted out

20k i know what i got

I had the same dilemma, I didn't know crew cab pickups demanded such a high price and I really needed four doors. Went with a SUV since they can somehow be half the price of a crew cab truck in worse condition.

The used car market is dumb.

issue is lots of diesels in alberta are getting bought up from US brokers due to the dollar

was thinking of buying a small pickup like a ranger to learn manual in.

Good idea, y/n?

Was also looking at a Geo Tracker.

It was a one owner, 200k miles, no rust for the most part, just some minor cosmetic problems including an obviously shitty spray paint job.
