I should have given more, I work for a shot blasting company, so I can clean shit like rust and get smallish paint work done cheap/free. I work with cars and bikes a bit, nothing too mechanical but I want to learn, in fact its important I do for my job, so fixing is a plus.
What I don't understand while going through insurance is that a 1.0 Corsa costs about £800 a year for insurance, but a mk5 Ford Cortina I was quoted £700.
Surely the group 1 car should always be cheaper under the same circumstances?

The A33 is a decent driving road if you can catch it at the right time, but it's full of HGVs that are hammering it to shit going from the M3 to the M4.
There's the A4047 Reading to Oxford, known as the 'bends of death' locally, which is a good driving road ruined by sunday drivers. Lots of semi-quick A-roads going in various directions through Hampshire as well, which are pretty popular with bikers.
A1/A1M is a pretty good drive, better the further north you follow it. The A10 out west would be good if it had been maintained in the last decade, but it hasn't so it'll hammer lowered cars to shit.
If you're willing to go to the middle of fucking nowhere, there's the A169 through the north york moors. That's quick, and also challenging as fuck with the hills and the twisties, and some beautiful scenery.

The only thing we could really do down that end is a static meet or a tunnel run. Static meets are nice sometimes I guess but they're a bit boring and there's potential for awkwardness. Tunnel runs aren't fun in shitboxes with standard exhausts.
