So /o/ how do you cope when someone no longer wants to sell you their car after making a deal? It's literally the most perfect 180sx in my whole area and it perfectly fits my price range yet the seller is backing out. Idk what to do anymore I don't know how much longer I have to live without one ;~; pic related is car

He has plans to keep it and fix it back up (fix fuel system fix oil leak from front of block etc) and keep it and he is planning to put it up on gumtree (Australias Craigslist) and sell it to someone else

>>15274770
Literally nothing I just looked at the car even offered to make a deposit and he declined it might be because he offered it to me for 3k and I said I only have 1500 and he offered to remove some parts to make it 1500 for me and now he is having second thoughts
>>
>>15274764
well, when he realizes that he doesn't actually want to invest the time and money it would take to do that, he will probably come crawling back
>>
>>15274787
Give up on it and keep looking for a better one.
Guarentee someone offered him more money for it even with the problems.
Tell him to contact you if it hasnt sold in 2-3 months and youll prob be able to lowball him.

The last time a 180sx k's spec sold for 1500 was yonks
>>
>>15274692
You're going to have to offer a bit more, OP.
These things attract turbo and manual tax and unfortunately for you, S13 prices have been on the up in recent times.
The 180SXs, for some reason, are also priced a bit higher than the Silvias, I've noticed.

And some advice: if you do decide on a CA, make sure it's been regularly serviced and that you keep it up; they're old, tired engines that have most likely been abused most of their lives and are prone to failure if they aren't given the love they need.

Best of luck!
>>
>>15274983
All I have to offer is 1500, and that's pushing it. I've had to gather all my pennies to even reach 1500, and he said he was going to be removing the turbo to make it 1500 aswell as other factors.

The head was rebuilt before he put it into storage so I am pretty sure it has been well taken care of for a drift car, and if not I have time and people I know to iron out the kinks.

>>

>yet the seller is backing out
You did lowball him by quite a bit. When he removes the various expensive parts like turbo, he still has to deal with selling that turbo and other parts in the australian market. You wanted a 50% discount if he removed parts, but he has no guarantee of being able to get rid of those parts. So it's no wonder he had 2nd thoughts of selling. It's better for him to fix it up and sell it for a higher price than to strip parts out and sell low.

OP's mistake was not showing up with the $1500 ready to snatch the bargain car immediately. $1500 australian is $1106 USD for those who don't understand what a bargain it was in usa dollars.

.

>>15274694
>Do what that other guy did and punch him in the face.

No, that is wrong for this kind of deal.

That aborted sale was due to the trashy sales tactic of the seller sacrificing Anon as the insurance to guarantee a minimum price. The seller deliberately didn't even bother contacting Anon because he really didn't care. Out of sight is out of mind for a Hit-And-Run personality which that seller had. It's valid to say hit and run personality because thru life I've seen how hit and run people behave, and they tend to have a personality type that is willing to sacrifice others. Anon was right to punch that guy in the face. There's too many people expecting to get away with trashing others and they need to be put in their place.
>>
>>15275479
So you're basically saying my dreams of buying a nii-san 180sx for 1500 is over and I've lost my chance? Fuck my life.
>>
If you only have 1500, you aint got the cash to drive and fix the damn car.

Get to riding your bike.
>>
>>15275494
why are you so hung up on what is clearly a shit car?

the cost to get this obviously neglected car running right and back on the road will end up the same price as a half decent 180.

my advice is let this sale go, get a job, be patient and buy a decent car.
>>
>>15275551
The problem is getting a job. For no reason what so ever unemployment in my area is at an all time low and wherever I hand my resume in and apply I can not get a job, hell it's that bad McDonald's isn't even hiring.
>>
>>15275014
How broke are you, you retarded pizza delivery fuck??

If he put the car up for 3k then why are you even bothering him and wasting his fucking time?

If you don't have 3k then don't buy the car and keep taking the bus fucking retarded mongoloid inbred cunt
>>
>>15275440
I mean once you give somebody money even if it's just some money and pen out a purchase agreement the seller can't back out legally. In these kind of low dollar cases it's best to take possession and wrote out the adherent that says he's allowed to come and remove his turbo, replacing it with stock intake. Possession is 9/10ths of the law.

>>15275433
There's nothing wrong with buying a common car then customizing it if you want to bee unique E.g. my 1983 Capri that takes 95% Mustang parts.

do you know what he's going to remove? it would probably be something with suspension, rims, sound system and maybe seat/steering wheel if they're aftermarket. if it has upgraded suspension then that's probably most expensive thing he'd remove, then rims (and tires) for 2nd most expensive. or the bodykit (but that front lip looks ugly as fuck so it's better off removed anyways)
does it have anything else like ECU or fuel controller?

Do the right thing and find buyers for those parts. Then he will be happy to sell you the car.
>>
>>15274692

>perfectly fits my price range

>$1500

You can't afford to own a car.
>>
>>15280463
is the car stock besides those changes (like did he change anything with fuel system)?

exhaust cost depends if it's the whole setup or if he just wants to keep the end cannon or something. the drivers seat will cost probably about 50 or so, turbo maybe 200-400+ depends, some stock ones (which is t25 i think) can be dodgy and some can be good and cheap, ecu i dunno probably about 50 or more, diff is hard to say since a welded diff can be dodgy condition/annoying to drive with. don't know what he means by water bottle. the radiator could have something wrong with it too. you can run without rear sway bar i think but it might be worse 'handling' for drifting

the turbo would be most hassle to replace. ecus/exhausts/radiators/seats are easy to find used for cheap, diff's can be easy since people will upgrade (if they don't try weld it) and sell in alright condition. but i don't know much about checking turbo/diff when buying used just by looking it
>>
>>15280519
1500 is basically the rock bottom budget for car ownership the problem is that he wants something "unique" which he can theoretically find and buy at that price but not only will maintenance be much more expensive (uncommon parts) and probably frequent (reason for being rarer) it'll also be more likely to have shit wrong with it to start with (buyer is unloading it for above reasons)

tl;dr op shut up and buy a civic

Not in Australia, especially WA. 1500 gets you a beater econobox. He's absolutely fucking dreaming looking for a sports car in his price range. He'd never find anything with a turbocharger or more than 170hp.
I'll put it this way, he would be extremely lucky to buy a functional hatchback mazda 3 with 200,000km on it for that price range.

The kicker is OP saying
>perfectly fits my price range
When he decided to try short change the seller by half it's price.
OP, if you're reading this, the seller had every right to decide he wasn't going to part out his car for your bullshit offer. He's clearly desperate, but he's not that desperate. Every buyer is looking for a bargain, and every seller is trying not to be taken advantage of. He was being straight with you and had his car on for a price that was very reasonable. Don't offer half the asking price and get butthurt when people decide you're not worth the effort and time. Dumb cunt.
>>
>>15280800
>He offered to remove parts
>He's not desperate considering he offered it to me and had no ads up anywhere

wat
>>
>>15280858
As in all I have to buy it is 1500
>>
>>15280845
He reconsidered his offer. His car isn't in your price range. Gimping your car so some dumb fucking teenager can afford a rolling shell isn't a worthwhile venture, especially since it won't even run after he's done with it. You would have to spend a fair chunk of money to get it functional again, and he would have to sell off the parts seperately, nobody will buy them all at once, and it sounds like he needed the money quicker.

Someone else will buy the car in it's entirety, which is what you will have to do in the future when you have saved up enough money.

I'm guessing you're young and excited as fuck at the prospect of getting a 180sx, but seriously, forget about buying a shit one right now with every cent you can muster, get a shitty job (if you don't already have one) and save like crazy for a year.

Now assuming you're living at home, don't have any real expenses etc, take half of what you've saved, buy a car (decent 180sx is easily doable, even just on a part time nightfill salary or some shit), from there on out try not to touch the other half of your savings, maintain your car with what you're earning and ffs make sure to get decent insurance, you don't want to do 20-30k worth of damage to someones car and spend the rest of your broke ass life paying off someone else's car.

>I'm guessing you're young and excited as fuck at the prospect of getting a 180sx

Then you aren't even trying. I have no qualifications and not a huge amount of work history and I managed to get a job at Woolworths without a problem.

Try harder, m8. Save up $15,000, buy something decent with your money and stop looking at these cheap as shit cars. You get what you pay for and if it's that cheap then there's something wrong with it.

This. Make a cover letter, and a resume that shows the subjects you did in school, then list some strengths, some hobbies and you're good to go.

I got my first job as a waiter when I was 20. I rocked up, asked if I could hand my resume to the manager, it had a bunch of conflict resolution skills and other bullshit that sounds good on paper, and I was given a trail the day after.
