Kinda hard because most bikes in a category look about the same when you see them out in the wild and people mod them more then with cars. I can't tell any of the various 'glides', rods, heads and tails Harley makes, and can't tell them apart from metric cruisers either, for example.

CBF250 is a solid 4, I see one or two at least every week commuting.

As for the CBR600, it depends. CBR600 themselves are everywhere on a weekend, but the F3 model itself is rather rare. I've only seen a single one other than mine in a year and a half of riding.

I appreciate your sarcasm. Feel free to waste your money.

There is literally no need for a second throttle cable if you keep the pull cable lubed and maintained. Your return cable should fit right up to use as a pull cable so that is far different from clamping and tugging a broken cable.

It's there so you can force the throttle shut if you let your primary throttle cable fray or gum up and stick with the throttle open. Maintain your shit and you won't have to worry about that. None of my bikes have them. On the off chance that it does stick I can just drag the brake or hit the kill switch

Mainly it's there so the manufacturer doesn't get a lawsuit if the throttle sticks.

There are some pretty good sellers 2bh pham.

Look and the pictures carefully and always ask for more pics or the origin of the part if you're undecided.

As an example, on the terrible financial decision that was acquiring a project bike, I was able to get an front fairing support for 30€, top+bottom yokes for about 50€, two discs for around 100€ I think.

New OEM discs from honda would have cost 700€ the pair. Talk about jewing.

Secondhand stuff on ebay is a blessing to the average poor man anon.

You can still
> ride in a straight line
> corner
> accelerate
> decelerate
while willying, so your bike still functions 100% with only 1 tire as well, in the same sense.
But then, you literally said that if you don't have the close cable, you can't shut off the throttle when the opener cable breaks (which mine did, funny that). So it obviously and literally does NOT function at 100% without it, since that is a function of your bike and it's not there anymore.
> just brake hard to stall
Unnecessary wear on brakes, might not work, risking loss of control / locking wheels.
> just hit kill switch / turn off ignition
Now you're dumping a whole lot of unburned fuel into your exhaust and surroundings, better hope it's not hot enough to ignite that fuel! Bonus points if you manage to stop your bike and light a cig to cool down.

>But then, you literally said that if you don't have the close cable, you can't shut off the throttle when the opener cable breaks
That's not what I said. If the opener cable breaks the spring on the throttle body/carb will shut it. It's a sticky cable that can make it stay open.
>while willying, so your bike still functions 100% with only 1 tire as well, in the same sense.
No. 99% of people can't do those on one wheel. And anybody who can do that is still much slower than on 2 wheels.
>So it obviously and literally does NOT function at 100% without it, since that is a function of your bike and it's not there anymore.
But it does function 100%. I ride it exactly the same as with 2 cables. I can still open and close the throttle. The throttle even snaps closed faster without the second cable.

>> just brake hard to stall
Unnecessary wear on brakes, might not work, risking loss of control / locking wheels.
I don't have to stall. The fact is the brakes are much more powerful than the engine so I could just use it to calm the acceleration. And the wear would be minimal if my throttle ever did stick open, not that it is likely anyway.
>dumping unburnt fuel into your exhaust will hurt something
I do that all the time. Keybangers yo.

Fair enough.
> 99% can't do
> much slower
Functionality is the same though, even if the quality of its function is reduced.
> can still open and close the throttle
Unless your cable sticks, for one reason or another. Then you're fucked. It's like saying your ABS bike is working 100% when the ABS sensor has given out. You can still ride it just fine, unless you get into circumstances where that functionality would be needed, i.e. braking hard on wet ground in the case of broken ABS, or wanting to decelerate when your throttle is stuck open.
> brakes are much more powerful than the bike
Confirmed for nobike has-only-ridden-a-250-in-his-life shithead with no knowledge of motorbikes.
> calm the acceleration
That still doesn't slow you down when you're about to hit a bumpy corner going 60 faster than you can handle because throttle is stuck open.
> keybangers
Enjoy your blown exhaust and fucked engine. Not that it'll be a big loss when your 125 breaks.

Bad advice IMO unless you're on a minibike. Most big bikes are geared too tall do do one from a dead stop so you can't really stand still with your legs down and pop the clutch. Also having your feat on the ground means not on the rear brake so you can't really control it if it starts to go over.

be sure you have your pedal adjusted properly. If it's adjusted to engage too soon the port from the reservoir to the master cylinder won't open up so it won't get firm. If it's adjusted too low it will feel really soft until it gets to the engagement point.

No, I'm not cc limited.

I come from a CBR250R, so I'm used to a shitty top speed. I'm just looking for something that can commute in pavement and go off-roading, while getting good as mileage.

Only thing I'm worried about is overtaking on the freeway, where most people go 70/75...
>>
>>15270979
Don't take a 250 on the freeway ever unless you want to redline it and get blown around the road the whole time. If you have to do freeway riding, 350cc is an absolute minimum

I already have a car, so the XT250 will mostly be for commuting around town while sipping on gas. I guess I don't have to use the highways

Not really, but it is still slow as fuck.

If you want a lightweight 250 enduro the WR250R is an amazing bike. Fuel injected, 6 gears, you can legitimately take it on the highway (for a bit). It performs better than the 650cc thumpers people usually get out west.

If you live on the east coast and deal with nothing but 55mph/ 65mph roads, the XT250 is fine.
>>
>>15271110
how do you have both two cylinder and one?
>>
>>15271129
It's 2 valves per cylinder
>>
>>15271129
ayy 2 VALVE per cylinder gringo
>>
>>15271082
Main problem with a 250cc bike is that cars, trucks will out-accelerate you and attempt dangerous overtaking maneuvers. Cruising around town in a lightweight, all-purpose economical enduro bike sounds great until you are forever tailgated and overtaken by stancebros and teenagers driving their mom's minivan.

At least in the USA. Practicalities in the US different wildly than in the rest of the world.

trash, 90% of the time they don't fucking work. Just do it by hand I've literally bleed hundreds of cars and a few bikes this way.

toss everything but the flexi-lines.

-close bleeder put the flexi-line on the nipple on the bleeder, tuck it somewhere that it can make it a mess
-slowly pump pedal or squeeze lever several times
-hold down pedal or hold in the lever
-crack open bleeder
-fully close bleeder
-release pedal or lever
-let it sit a few seconds then push or squeeze and test

repeat until done, shouldn't take more than three
>>
>>15271190
It worked the first time, but I'll give a manual bleed a try.

To drive a bike here we need to either be over 24 witha driver license, then we can drive up to 125cc, or take a full license (16 practical classes 32 theoretical, 2 exams. I think) So signing up, dropping the dough to the figure out it's not for me would cost a penny. Yes, the school do provide bikes, but i'm not sure they'll just let you try, or take you out to give you a feel. I could try asking tho

good job. I have one on my rear brake as well. I should eventually get one for my front brake too, but I need to sort out the mushiness first. I might try putting on that Nissin master I have laying around to see if it helps. It's larger diameter though so it might make it a bit weaker.

do or do not, there is no try.

If you try popping the clutch 2-3 times then give up because it's not happening then you'll never do it.

You need to set aside an area for an hour or so and not stop until you've got that shit popping, on the DR350 would be easiest I suppose but contrary to what /dbt/ will say you can learn "how to wheelie" (not necessarily be amazing but learn it) without wrecking your bike if you take it slow so you could do it on the gsx-r too.

how hard is it to care for a kitten.. fucking manchild.
>>
>>15271785
so it bogs when you whack the throttle open?

Does the o ring mod help it squirt sooner or does it just make it a shorter squirt? I've heard of people swapping the honda squirter or modding the original ones to get the AP to work correctly. Luckily mine doesn't bog so I haven't had to do anything to it.

Although my bike is orange, it uses the same carb.

Thanks for the info of tanks.

They're not really mine or anything. A feral cat just had kittens in my barn so I go down there and play with them and shit. They're not domesticated and I'm not letting them into my house.

What rear tire would you guys recommend for an 08 gs500 anyways? Keep in mind I'm a poorfag.

Yes, it bogs because the squirt isn't soon enough, it's fully advanced and starts too late still.

I bought the Tokyo Mods AP linkage spring, should help the squirt instead of replacing an O-Ring every few months, or wiring it and making the duration too short.
>>
>>15271755
Good buy for syrup dollars.

An easy mod is to move the eclip on the main jet needle, down one space. Helps fatten it up a bit.

Depends on what you want out of a tyre.

Michelin Pilot Streets are cheap, last for ages and are good in the wet but they suck when you push them in corners.
>>
>>15271921
Seems to be what I'm looking for, I don't see myself pushing it too far in the corners desu
>>
>>15271831
Then domesticate them
>>
>>15271956
They're a good commuter tyre, I'd recommend them for that. I found them to be not particularly grippy though, like they don't ever "come up to temperature" like other tyres do. Once they get really hot they start to feel greasy and not very confidence inspiring, but under normal riding conditions you shouldn't encounter that.

Got my MSF class Sat/Sun, got my endorsement monday, bought my first bike today /dbt/

06 SV650S for $2800, 21956 miles. I feel like I got a good deal regardless of what some anons may say. Left fork seal is leaking slightly and some cosmetic damage due to being dropped, but I just got back from riding it the first time and I'm in love.

nice, I just got my license last weekend and going to go take a look at an SV650 this weekend. All of my friends with more experience are out of town though so I may just have to settle for sitting on the bike and not test riding it until the following weekend.

Thanks buddy, I'm a little concerned about mpg. its only getting around 45-50ish in town, once it died at 30 miles on the odometer but only took .5 gallons, it normaly takes about 1 when i need to swap it to the reserve,
>>
>>15272254
That sounds like you need to clean the carbs not than anything. You should only have a gallon left out less when you need to switch to reserve

>>15272244
Hope you enjoy it m8

If an american were to have their full license here, and them move to Germany or one of the other nanny countries, would he have to go through the licensing restrictions bullshit or could he just transfer his american license to a full license there?

It's not worth it, when they run the plate through their computer it'll say non-LAMS approved like it does on your rego papers.

They can see that you're on a restricted license on the computer when they run your plate though.

Also riding a non-LAMS bike on your L's/P's is classed as riding unlicensed which means if you crash and get caught you will get absolutely reamed by the police and your insurance will probably be null and void too.

The biggest IT model was the 490, which is why I mentioned the parts compatibility between it and the YZ490. A common fork swap in the past to all IT models was YZ forks of the same era, typically from a YZ of comparable engine side to the bike that's getting the forks.

IT200 is a loose whore, she goes and goes and then goes some more. 2 stroke, street legal, enduro bike.

26hp/15tq, 9k rpm safe, 2stroke 200cc, basic enduro bike. Popular for harescrambles. I use it as a short commuter on street(less than 10 miles one way), and I rag on it in the desert. She's never let me down.
I got it for free, I knew it had sat for 10 years, I changed the oil, plug, and fuel. It started first kick.
Here is a restored one, for /dbt/s porn collection.
>>
>>15272485

>>15272478
Alright for what they are, but I like changing my own gears and being able to hold onto the bike with my legs.

There are bikes with internal storage nowaydays so I don't see the point in owning a scooter when there are more appealing options available.

Also Italjet Dragster 180 best scooter

For an upside down fork the larger diameter portion of the fork tube is at the wheel and the smaller diameter portion of the fork tube is by the steering head right?
If that's the case I have upside forks.
