HALP!

I am seriously thinking of getting a Ferrari 360 Spyder and this one in particular has piqued me interests.

>56,000KM
>2001 Manual
>Ferrari authorized mechanic approved
>$137,000AUD ($101,000USD or so)

Haven't told the dealer/seller that I want it yet, but I should be able to knock off maybe a couple of thousand bucks here and there. I have the cash ready too, so maybe a few more dollarydoos off there.

This obviously won't be my daily driver (Currently have a 2005 Civic sedan).

What do /o/?
>>
>56k km

That's a lot of miles. Do Ferrari engines have rebuild intervals?

And you're buying this car to supplement your Honda civic?
>>
And before anyone asks; I am not a drug dealer or a balding midlife-crisis guy. I'm 27 and recently got a few bucks from a property deal that went down (sold two student/studio apartments) and traded up for decent suburbian home with a $50,000 windfall. Also got some money from my late, late uncle (R.I.P. uncle Max).

I was originally thinking of getting an F355 but I thought the 360 was probably a smarter buy considering it's much more modern.
>>
>>15262197
Probably just for going out on weekends to pick up pussy and Sunday drives to sober up. Might take it to the track, if the engine is affordable to maintain. Also looking to put a wide body kit for it too. Might design it myself (I do a bit of graphics design).
>>
Invest it you faggot. The ferrari will appreciate in value, but will also cost you money to fix that Italian shitmess. Unless you have more than 175k in a bank, don't go and waste most of it on a car.
>>
Oh fuck just found an F1 version with the flappy-paddles for less than $100K, but twice as many miles on the odometer...
>>
>>15262251
I have about $450,000 in cash and liquid assets. And about $2 million in property. But only "casually" employed in my father's accounting firm. So I don't really have a steady income (apart from the interest and short trading I do).

I haven't really spent big on luxuries myself, maybe except for traveling the world, but even then I only spent about $50,000 and that was for a whole year.
>>
>>15262252
definitely don't do that
the ferrari won't appreciate in value like that other retard said, maybe it'll stick around its value because its a manual but it does have alot of miles...

if you're looking at an investment get an older porsche, something like a honda NSX or whatever

if you want to have fun then fuck yes get the ferrari, blow your money on it, maybe look at doug demuro's video on how much upkeep costs of his aston martin.

But then again we can't look into your wallet, so do whatever the fuck you can afford.

Dude just buy a more low-key car.

You might be able to pick-up more girls downtown with a Ferrari, but be prepared for all your neighbors, your old friends, and the people of the town and the roads to hate you.

Plus if that thing breaks, you're fucked.
>>
My dad had one of those news. It was a shitbox new, can't be any better now.

Really all Ferraris are shitboxes when it comes down to it. They break, they leak, they suck all around in that respect. ... buy they look and sound great, and are fun to drive.
>>
>>15262611
>You might be able to pick-up more girls downtown with a Ferrari,

In my experience, exotic cars don't attract girls, they attract guys. Girls could give a fuck for the most part, if you want girls your better off with a Range Rover.
>>
>>15262251

Only sensible post in this thread, assuming this thread isn't bullshit, which it is.

>>15262185
First of all the 360 is a shitty Ferrari. It is slow as molasses. 2nd of all youll look like a tool. To everyone. Even other Ferrari owners. Only one who will be impressed are 10 year old boys who know nothing about cars.
>>
>>15262197
>>15262252

Are we talking miles or kilometers. Ffs dumb americans
>>
>100k for a 15 year old Ferrari and a shit tier model at that
Just get a Porsche or something you're wasting your money
>>
>>15262185
>Too poor to buy a new car

Hahahahaha never change /o/. Now excuse me while I drive my NEW mustang

OP here, I really wanted to import a Wiegert Vector W8 Twin Turbo I found a couple of years ago for a total of $75,000. Was a fixer-upper of course.

Fuck, I just want a cool super car like some of my friends do...

>>15262852
I spend too much on alcohol to afford a new super car :(
>>
>>15262870
How fucking much do you drink?
>>
>>15262835
Or just burn your money, you'll get more out of the experience.
>>
>>15262870
>Ferrari 360
>Super car
>>
>>15262185
Just get a hellcat or a hennessey corvette
>>
>>15262872
Two bottles (700ml each) of Old Pulteney 21 Year Old at home and probably the same every weekend going out.

I'm Australian, a high-functioning alcoholic.
>>
>>15262835
a new cayman is about half price but it would dust this shit and the premium maitenance prices will be less of a pain in the ass, not to mention its gorgeous
>>
>>15262879
A corvette sure, but not Hennessy

>Give him your money
>Car sits around with no work being done
>Shit tier parts slapped on with hennesseys name stamped on it
>performance gains falsified.

Unless you're the most well known guy in Texas, Hennessy will likely fuck you over.
>>
>>15262266

Then buy a car that's going to be a real investment and not a poor mans Ferrari on its' last leg. Or buy a more sensible car, keep investing, and then have fun with some of that portfolio money.
>>
you guys actually think rich people post on this board
>>
>used ferrari
ah, the cuck life!
>>
>>15262210
>R.I.P. uncle Max
Unless uncle Max drove a Ferrari, don't go wasting your time.
>>
>>15262197
Yeah, every 4 years regardless of mileage or if it was even driven
Starts at $7000 and is mandatory if you ever want to sell the car
>>
>>15262672
Exotics do attract girls, but not the kind you'd want
>>
>>15263798
It's 3 years for belt engines but 360s are engine in so a major is only ~$3300. 430s and forward have timing chains so major services are longer intervals and less intensive.
>>
>>15263811
Should add it does cost more for Spiders because the entire top mechanism has to come out to get to the timing belt.
>>
>>15262185
That's expensive for a 20 year old Ferrari, it's age will show and a modern bmw could keep up with it easy, that's a lot of nothing for 100k
>>
>>15263835
You can buy a 360 for 100k and it will be worth 100k in 10 years. A 100k M6 will be worth 20k at most in 10 years. Nobody buys any Ferrari aside from Challenge cars to go fast. That said 100 grand for that particular car would never happen in the US but idk what the premium is in Australia, I imagine there aren't many cars over there compared to the US or Europe.
>>
what they dont tell you about fezzas: they are absolute maintenance whores, plus have you forgotten about tall poppy syndrome in aus?

plus the 360 engine just reminds me of a ford cortina when you have got the secondaries open the previous model (355) actually SOUNDS like a ferrari and was the first to introduce the flappy paddle gearbox but they were the last to have a manual with a stick too.
>>
>>15263852
>Buy a Ferrari for $100k
>drive it around the block twice a year, careful to not put too many miles on it, otherwise the car would depreciate
>Have it maintained by a dealership where you could potentially spend tens of thousands on regular maintenance, otherwise the car would depreciate
>Do this for 10 years then sell it for $100k after spending tens of thousands in maintenance to have the privileged to drive the car 1000 miles
>SOUL AND PASSHUN!

Any sane person would just get a 997 Turbo
>>
>>15263902
>but they were the last to have a manual with a stick too.
The 360, 430, 550, 575, and 599 all had available manuals

>>15263906
People buy Ferraris because they want a Ferrari, not because they want the most sensible sports car.
>>
go look up superspeedersrob on youtube and watch his videos about the 360

I'd say go for it anon. Its decent overall and the 360 has proven it self as not the worst ferrari.

The 2001 360's have problems . go for 2002+ , because that's when they fixed motor mounts issues

He can always get a loan. Still, this isnt relevant since op would lose a shit ton of money if he buys a new car compared to the 360.
>>
Complete money pit that you will struggle to recoup any money on when you decide it's too expensive to keep.

Honestly OP, unless you literally have money to burn then forget a Ferrari.

The only people that can warrant the expense are the folks that buy a brand new Ferrari and don't even sweat the price tag.

Get something sporty and fun that costs half the money and doesn't cost thousands of dollars every time you service it.
>>
>>15262185
Not OP but I'm debating between getting a 2016 base 911 turbo or an NSX same year. Which of the two or related vehicle has the least expensive and easiest maintenance.
>>
>>15263906
Go with this guy's suggestion.
1. A 911's maintenance is less insane
2. You can daily drive a 911
3. A 911 is less ostentatious, it's more about driving than image
>>
>>15266352
And OP can still be a dumb alcoholic and not go bankrupt.
>>
buy a gtr. 360s just drop in value and are extremely expensive to maintan
