They are half decent at both, they wont ever get you as far as a 100% off road tyre but they also won't clog up with shit and turn into slicks as soon as you look at a bit of mud
>>
>>15261931
And no, not at all.
knobbies are for getting the dirt out of your tyre, on street they serve absolutely no purpose.
Its kinda like how the grooves in an on road tyre make is worse if the road is dry, they are only there to deflect water from the contact point.

I want to get a tank pad for my R3 but the dealer wants to sell me one specific to my model for $100. are the $20 ebay ones just as good, fitment and quality wise?

Ohh, I feel like such an idiot! Ohh wait? No I don't because nobody cares about any of those except maybe the roadster but I'd just lump that in with a cruiser because it's the same thing.

I can almost guarantee anybody riding a ujm or standard wish they were riding something else unless the bike had sentimental value for whatever reason.

my local dealer has one of these at AUD$15k plus on-roads.
any one ridden one?

>>15262026
I parked it on a barely noticable incline, didn't fully put the handlebar to the left or put it in gear.
Checked with my hips whether it was stable, then dismounted, walked a 2 meters and heard it crash.
Prayed it was some sort of car running into a tree, but when I saw her lying there my heart stopped.

basically, I am a fucking retard.

It's basically a sport bike with no fairings. I guess you can say it's less of a sport bike right?

dude thats always one major thing that people overlook/simply dont know about older bikes, specifically 70s/80s era hondas.

their electrical systems are SHIT. you might as well replace the rectifier with the upgrade, comb through every wire and connection in the headlight bucket (cuz its going to fuck with how your bike runs somehow), check every ground even the ones near the engine mount on the frame thats a bitch to get to, check the wires going to the rear near the battery, make sure the fuse on the battery is good, check the rear harness.

even at that point you'll probably STILL have some fuckery and you have to troubleshoot the fuck out of it.

learned that the hard way and im never, ever going to buy an old honda that i need to daily ever again. ill stick to my slow ninja shitbike.

speaking of shitbike.

Hows pic related for first bike?

I've ridden some dirtbikes. Took the MSF class and got my license in May.
Been kinda lazy in my bike hunt.

One of these is sitting in a guys yard in town. He wasnt home im supposed to look at it tonight though. Didnt think to take a pic of it. But its just as clean, doesnt appear to have ever been wrecked though it has a cracked tail section right by the side of the seat. He said on the phone he just hit it at one time on accident with something when doing some work in the garage.

Its an 02 yfz600r. Has 24k on it. He bought it new in 04 as a leftover. Said it has nothing wrong.Last year said it had valve adjustment, battery, tires, chain and sprocket, and oil change and only has had about 1000 miles since.

All checked out looking at it, still looks like new tires. Hes asking $2300 and I got him to $1900. Said he wont take a penny less.

Decent first bike? I'm leaning towards it just because I'm too lazy to go 2-5 hours for a bike which is where the other towns that have anything would be.

I've had two ruckuses.
Shit was massive amounts of fun.

Lots of offroad abuse/fun. Locking brakes and sliding, wheelies, and just all around beating the crap out of. Pointless roadtrips, 100+ mpg.

I loved my ruckus. Buddies all got rid of their mopeds for full bikes/supermotos after I got mine and I didn't have as much fun riding it alone so I got rid of mine.

Massive amounts of fun though - that said the ruckus itself is way more fun than I think most scooters just because of the way it's built it is much more versatile and fun to beat around than your average run of the mill scooter.

>>15262744
frame is different
17" wheels are standard for almost all street bikes. Would you call an R1 a supermoto because it has the same size wheel?
Are you sure they handle the same?
Supermotos usually have nearly a foot of ground clearance and much longer suspension with different geometry.
Those are more like sport bikes without fairings than supermotards. Supermotos are -generally- built from dirt bike chassis.

I think youd be happy and fine with it esp since you already have some riding experience. Theyre very tame for a i4 600. Quick enough to get into trouble but not so fast itll scare a first time rider.
Theyre also pretty heavy which is their downside. But besides that theyre reliable simple bikes. Parts are cheap and available for them.

I really, really like the B*TA logo on it. I think it's supposed to say Beta, might be an accurate description of the rider.

It's also very very cool that the bike actually says RACING on it also. Then you definitely know it's a racing bike and not a red plasticrocket.
