Land Cruiser 80 if you truly need the most durable and capable rig available, regardless of cost (parts, fuel economy), and one that is supported the whole globe over.
If you're going more so for a weekend camping rig but aren't some hardcore globe trotter, a 3rd gen 4Runner will be cheaper and easier to fix in the States. and will get substantially better fuel economy (albeit with a limited fuel range due to the small tank). Tacoma is similar to 4Runner in terms of advantages/disadvantages. More cargo space but less people space.
