Got pulled over in a friend's 240 because the cop said the car had an illegal aftermarket exhaust (car was completely stock) then checked the paperwork for the car. Then sat in his cop car for like 15 minutes, came back and asked both of us for our IDs. Said the reason for pulling us over was we were parked in an empty parking lot we looked sketchy???

LA cops are such faggots

Didn't get pulled over but a weird cop story.

>been hanging out with friend on other side of town
>drinking a little but only like a shot and a beer over three hours, maybe two shots
>been a solid 90 minutes since my last one
>head home, about 2AM
>mile down the road there's a high arc bridge you have to cross
>cop sitting sideways in my lane at the foot of the bridge
>figure it's some kind of stop, he'll get out, check my shit then back up
>pull up about 20 feet away
>wait
>wait
>wait
>am I just supposed to go?
>see him peek over at me through his window
>have no idea what the fuck I'm supposed to do because I can't see over the bridge to know if it's clear to just go around him
>sit there for a solid like 3 minutes
>finally just turn around to go the long way, keep it to 10mph for the first block to make sure he wasn't coming after me

It was weird as fuck, was it actually some kind of traffic stop and he just didn't want to bother getting out of the car for me, or what?

Cop car almost switched lanes into me and caused a wreck. I braked in time, hung back 100 feet, and in my anger flashed my lights ONCE at him. not gonna greentext this.

I was with my friend.

When we were on the highway, we came to a red light.

A cop with a k9 pulled up next to us on the left.

Light turns green we take off slowly like everyone else.

Cop doesnt take off yet and sits for a few seconds

As soon as we go down the road a mile, the cop is behind us now cause the cop sped up lights on.

We get pulled over and are confused as fuck.

My friend removes his seat belt afyer we stop and shuts off the car

Cop comes out, walks up holding hand on gun walking all stalkerish like shes about to draw her gun.

Looks angry, asks to open the window which is stuck closed btw so my friend had to open the door and she asked him to step out slowly.

He steps out, female cop still holding gun on hip, asks "sir why the fuck were you driving past all those people going 75 in a 50mph zone?!" asked in a very angry assertive tone.

my friend looking confused as fuck replies "officer I wasnt speeding I was doing the speed limit, in fact you were driving right next me me for 3 miles!"

another cop shows up, its a guy.

min later, supervisor shows up.

my friend still getting questioned and accused for no reason.

Super visor tells female officer to let him go and wrap this up, waste of time

Female cop spends 2 mins writing ticket.

gives ticket back to my friend.

"seat bealt violation"

bu-but..he we were wearing out fucking seat belts..bullshit ticket.

we get releived and the cops all leave.

my friend and I go to court and have ticket appealed

The court shows sympathy and says that this happens all the time and they know that female cunt cop who makes up BS tickets.

seriously, wtf is with some gun ho cops who make up BS tickets??

Find out female cop ends up in news and was fired due to many complaints.

Good. Cunt deserves it.

Mfw my friend didnt have to pay the ticket.

Good.

Motorcycle checkpoints when I was stationed in Maryland a few years back. They'd set up a roadblock, then herded any bikes to an empty parking lot and fished for reasons to ticket/impound. Luckily, they sent me off every time as soon as they saw the Texas plate because I'm sure the rest were held up there for at least an hour.

>Makes me call my father, who has to go thru the whole online process to renew while I'm pulled over

Stupidest reason I got pulled over was because I was hooning in the snow. That was my stupid though.

Other dumbest reason was because I was out driving around at 1 am in the country bumping the subs and smoking some reef. I pulled over to let the car behind me pass since I was doing 45 in a 55 and it was a policeman. Oops. No troubles though, just took my I'd and insurance and let me go.

kind of pathetic that your 'never again' story is from having a close experience with the legal consequences of getting caught drunk driving, not any of the authentic dangers - like running over a small child or driving through a streetlight or something.

I hope you don't tell that to people at parties. "No, I refuse to drunk drive as a personal rule... because im afraid a getting caught ;_;"

One time I was really fucking scared.
>me and my friends are parked in front of the small park that's in our neighbourhood
>it's 9-10pm in summer
>some smoke joints
>just chatting
>eventually everyone leaves, I'm waiting for a friend I have to take home
>he's in the bushes pissing
>I'm just sitting in the car, windows rolled down, listening to the radio
>cops arrive
>they're very aggressive and one of them has a rifle in hand
>they say they're here because of noise complaints from neighbours
>the one without the gun shines a flashlight in my face and in the car and says I look like a drug addict
>probably because I'm wearing an iron maiden shirt and my hair is kind of ruffled, maybe the scent of weed is still lingering in the air
>they tell me to step out of the car
>they make me spread on the hood of my car and tell me not to do sudden moves as they have me under fire
>one cop searches me the other is pointing the God damn rifle at me
>they ask to empty my pockets: phone, wallet, house keys, nothing else
>now they ask me where the drugs are
>they're in your car we know it. Just tell us and make this easier
>I say I don't even smoke tobacco and sure as hell I have no drugs
>they say they will see about it and search the car finding nothing at all
>they say I got lucky this time but they'll be keeping an eye on me and leave
>my friend comes out of the bushes and tells me it looked like a movie scene
>keep in mind this was Europe and cops pointing firearms at you is almost unheard of

Whine more. It really doesn't make a difference if a cop's gun is on their hip or pointed at your head. The fact is, as enforcers of the State, they have the right to violence reserved and you don't. The only reason people get shaken about an experience like that is, because they've lived their lives refusing to acknowledge it and are suddenly forced to when the gun suddenly stops being some hip ornament.

>"No sir"

>explain it's shorthand at the insurance company and DMV for a Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34
>cop has no idea FWD Monte Carlos exist, explain to him the Z34 was the performance model.
>Cop explains he pulled us over thinking I was drunk, but just from talking to me it's clear I'm not.
>Explain to him she gave me directions halfway through the intersection
>cop laughs. His gf has done the same to him.
>"Why did your tires squeal?"
>explain front tires are bald. new ones on order but haven't arrived yet
>asks where my front plate is
>tell him it's there but hidden by the vanity plate in front of it

He thought the Monte Carlo was just a plain Lumina. Understandable. The Z34 model has blacked out badging and trim against a black trunk panel. The only real hint to anything are the red bowties.

This story reminds me of what happened the other day....

>driving down main road from my house to head into town to get some eat.
>road comes to intersection where you can head left to go to area to get food or stay in the straight lane and head downtown.
>see disco lights on one of our town's new SUVs, decide I'll take my car down the straightaway and check it out since I like cruising down town at night.
>SUV is literally perpendicular in the right lane, blocking traffic.
>I'm the only person on the road.
>Cop SUV is completely empty and still running.
>sit for awhile, nothing happens.
>look around, no cops anywhere in sight.
>decide to pull around into left lane and pass, never end up seeing a cop. Wondering wtf the cop SUV was parked in the road like that for because there weren't any hazards ahead.
>come back around 15 minutes later, it is still there, untouched.

It looked to me like a cop literally pulled out onto the main road, slammed the brakes, and pursued a suspect on foot. Like it had to have been. I know in some areas like Texas, cop cars will have disco lights rolling at night in construction areas, well, in South VA they don't do that shit. Just weirded me out a little.
>>
I'm still not sure how the fuck this happened, maybe because I was going slower, but I got pulled over because a car passed me that was going 80.
>>

Another story:

>just turn 18
>hooning out in parent's SUV, borrowed it to grab some eat.
>doing 75MPH on the main business stretch. Speed limit is 35.
>mainly doing it so I can get around traffic and take the exit to downtown and loop back home and there is a semi truck slowing everyone down.
>take exit.
>suddenly a fucking plumbers van with disco lights.
>I shit you not, it said something like "Allen's plumbing" on the side with the ladder and all.
>lights are hidden in the cabin.
>look in rear view because this is sketchy as fuck and I was a muh guns muh rights edgy teenager.
>two cops in SWAT gear in front seat, decide to pull over.
>they surround me on both sides, ask for ID, ask why I think they pulled me over.
>tell me I was going fucking ballistic speed, but they don't have radar equipment in the van to clock me. Tell me they could charge me with reckless driving anyways, but I get out of it saying my mom was pissed that I had the SUV out for too long.
>let me go with a warning.
>look behind as they get in the van, realize there is about 8 cops in this van and it is probably the party van.

During this time period, our town just reinstated the street crime unit. They also used to leave cop cars unattended around town to discourage law breaking. People caught on and started vandalizing the cars.
>>
>>15243617
Final story:

>racing friend down business stretch at 18.
>he suddenly decelerates, I see a red beam going across the road.
>road is a 40MPH.
>once again I'm literally doubling the speed limit.
>pulled over, clocked at 77MPH. Cop is a cop who has arrested me before for trespassing AND talked to me about a "hit and run" I had that I never even knew about.
>he let's me off with a ticket, saying I have the worst luck of any teenager and I should stop attracting attention.

>In 2013, I was convicted of a felony for being with someone who was shoplifting. (Virginia has strict guilty by association laws)
>Convicted of trespassing in the park after dark (and booked for such a minor offense... Literally just night hiking)
>Ticketed four times, all in the same exact area. One time I was ticketed twice in the same area only a couple hours apart. Two times I was just doing 10MPH over.
>Pulled over by the aforementioned van.
>Pursued and interrogated by cops for walking down the street with friends at like 9PM, multiple times.
>I was involved in a fender bender hit and run I never knew about. Apparently I backed into a PT cruiser at an intersection when a car came dangerously close to hitting me. They didn't file insurance because it did no damage.
>Finally total loss the SUV that had gained so much heat, after trying to let a friend learn to drive, they drove it off a road and hit a tree doing 40MPH.

Right after I lost the SUV, I bought a Civic. I was NEVER pulled over or harassed by cops again. I honestly think my car had a shit load of heat by the police, because my parents were pulled over a lot in it too.

21 now, and still getting my life on track. Ask me how much effort it took to find a job and build my life back together because of dumb shit teenager decisions.

After paying a few thousand over the course of a few years for speeding and parking, I've learned that you can speed like a mad cunt as long as your car isn't a turd bucket. Are you reading replies that are nonexistant? Maybe you come from communities with voting systems, but there is literally no way that you could know what other people think of that post you just replied to here. Maybe it's psychological. Maybe it's your own post you're replying to, like a 12 year old fucktard liking his own facebook posts thinking his swelling autism is going unnoticed. Maybe your self esteem depends on you tricking yourself into thinking someone out there thinks your post is worth something. How is that relevant? They're enforcers of the State and have the sovereign right to use violence - under the State's rules, not yours. If they believe you could be a threat, they've every right to treat you as one.

>Cop says "You be safe John" and leaves
>My name isn't even John.

Only time I've ever been pulled over, totaled that minivan a few months after getting back from Cali.
>>
Haven't been pulled over all that many times. The bulk were simple speeding violations, but I had two that irked me:

Most recent one was for window tint. I had recently moved to Arizona and got my windows tinted to help cut down on interior heat. Front windows were supposedly done with 35%, darker around back. Supposedly the legal limit is 33% on the front side windows. Get pulled over and he meters the window at 30%. Gives me one of those 'fix it' tickets where you have to send it in to say it is fixed or they suspend the registration for the car. Seriously, this is one of the sunniest states in the country, and you're going to bust my balls about 3%?? WTF was I supposed to do, double check the readings at the tint shop before I left?? I thought for sure he'd let me slide being that it was so close, and it wasn't like I had knowingly done something illegal.

What pisses me off more about that is seeing cars at cruise ins and such that 5% or less all around and 20-35% over the whole windshield. I bet you could sit on the side of the highway and see an illegally tinted car go by every couple of minutes.

The other one was in high school, first time ever getting pulled over. I was still new to having a license and timid about driving, so I was super careful about obeying traffic laws. So I'm driving down one of the main streets through our town, doing exactly the speed limit, and I see this cop go by in the other direction. As soon as he gets past me, he slams on the brakes, flips the lights on, and makes a U turn in traffic in the middle of the road to catch up with me (mind you, this is a 35 mph zone, so it's not like I was going to magically get away if he didn't move quick). The reason he pulled me over - he thought I wasn't wearing my seat belt. However, I've always worn my seat belt, and had it on the whole time. I fought him on it, and he ended up letting me go without anything, but he was a real ass hole about the whole thing.

Now ask yourself that question again, and it will all make sense.
>>
>>15247896
The van had been in a wreck before and had quite a few issues, 200k on it aswell. It started overheating on the way home from California and eventually blew the head gasket a week after we got back. Definitely not worth 8k at the condition it was in, let alone the $11,000 total she wanted.

Easy way to think of it is that the pollies don't have anything better to do so they make up laws. Communications minister doesn't have anything to do so he comes up with some harebrained idea to create the Great Firewall of Australia under the guise of protecting the children.
Problem now is that it's super hard to repeal these idiot ideas because then you're suddenly approving of children having access to porn and violent material. It took a gigantic movement to get the fuckwits to drop the firewall idea.

Same thing goes for road laws. Powerful cars should be kept out of the hands of drivers, for the children, of course. If you disapprove of this idea, then you obviously support the idea of children being run over by powerful cars. Hey presto, we have car type restrictions for P plate drivers in some states now (no turbo, no bigger than 2000cc, ect).

It's fucking insane the shit you can get away with by using this argument.

Happened about 8years ago.

Bought my first 89' MR2 three city's away. The next day I get invited to Dennys from an old roommate at 3am. Make the trip downtown when I suddenly get pulled over.

Cop asks for the usual. He goes to his car and comes back with his partner. Starts interrogating me that this car is registered in another name, in another city and it must be stolen.

" I have all the signed paper work and pink slip in the trunk. I'll gladly show you it. I mailed off the forms to the dmv already."

Cop says like an asshole, "YOU REALLY WANT TO TAKE THE TIME TO TRY AND CONVINCE ME, SO I WONT HAVE TO LOCK YOUR ASS UP!?"

"I have plenty of time officer. Is it okay if I get the papers from my trunk?"

Cop has a harsh stare, my heart is beating like crazy. He snarks, "Fuck it. Whatever kid, just get the fuck out of my streets! Dont waste my time."

He then peels out and speeds past a red light. Had a story to tell my friend as to why I was late 20minutes.

I got pulled over for having having a radar gun. Cop grilled me pretty hard about it but ultimately let me go. I guess he phoned it in to HQ and they didn't find anything about it being illegal so he had no choice but to let me go.

He was pretty chill at the end of the encounter though, I just shot the shit with him a bit and told him how I wanted to get a Stalker 2 one day.

Pic related. Don't know if it was a stupid reason for getting pulled over but was definitely a unique one.

When I was 17 I was driving through town, not doing anything wrong whatsoever, at around 10pm at night with a few friends in the car. A cop started following me, never turning his lights on, ended up following me for about 10 minutes. I got to my friends house, which is way up a hill in a not often travelled area, not only did the cop keep following, he followed up my friends long driveway, still didn't turn on his lights, and just sat behind me when I parked. We sat in the car for a few minutes not sure what to do, the cop is still sitting in the car. I finally get out and he then jumps out of the car, puts his hand on his gun, and tells me to put my hands on the car. I have my friend hand him the registration and I show him my license. He says "well your car looked a lot like a guys car who we know just got out of jail." No more explanation after that. He ended up getting fired a few months later for walking into a house where a house party was going on without knocking and pepper sprayed a few kids.

I got pulled over and cuffed because my paranoid schizophrenic neighbor social engineered the cops over the phone. He convinced them that he was me, and that I had stolen my car. Apparently he believed that I had gifted him the car after burning down the house he used to live in as payment for killing his entire family. He was also convinced that the post office was trying to frame him for dozens of different things, so he was asking the cops over the phone to prove that they weren't working for the post office before he would speak to them in person.

The cop was actually really chill about it and profusely apologized for taking up my time. Can't imagine what would have happened if I hadn't been dressed neatly, or been black.

Mental illness is really serious. That guy and one other are a big part of the reason why I don't like living in the city, or even suburbia. It's not that I fear them, I just don't like the ongoing hassle if one of them latches onto me as a fixation point for their delusions.

Nothing to do with cops, but I'll post it anyways.

The other guy would get crazy angry and start pounding on my door at all hours of the day demanding money and shit. Was just a general jackass. Everyone hated him. Eventually I just put up sound deadening panels on the wall and ignored him since I could only hear him from the kitchen, and if anyone was stopping by they'd call me. Happened to get up at 3 in the morning one night to take a piss and heard him pounding on the door as I walked past to grab something out of the fridge. Didn't think about it overly much and went to bed. Got up the next day, got dressed, and went to walk out, only to have his corpse fall into my entryway.

Turns out he'd had a stroke and lost the ability to speak, and was desperately trying to get someone to call for medical help. Must have overexerted himself too much and he passed out on my door, then died of exposure. At least that's what I was told after the investigation.

Moral of the story is, don't be that faggot crying wolf all the time.

That's kinda sad. The fact that his annoyance for his uncontrollable mental illness signed his death sentence.
>>
>>15255180
Sure, it's sad, but I can't exactly say I feel sorry for him. He didn't deserve it since he quite literally was incapable of making rational decisions, but the flip-side is that nobody deserves to be the target of that level of harassment. It sucks, but there's really nothing you can do about it. Nobody wins.

If someone refuses treatment, and isn't a danger to others, there's no good reason to force them into it. I say that as someone with half a dozen extended family members with disabilities ranging from crippling bipolar to dementia. Some of them are willing to seek help. The others are going to die impoverished, and in all likelihood, alone.
>>
>>15255217
But if a mental illness makes you incapable of taking rational decisions, shouldn't that mean that mental help should be forced onto you because you cant decide wether or not you would like treatment?

Be careful. One day it's a common sense law used against people that are genuinely dysfunctional, the next day you're living in nazi sweden and your "antisocial disorder" is making you irrationally want a human-driven sportscar instead of an automated commuter. It's irrational, anon, it's more dangerous, danger isn't rational, think of the greater good that isn't a spook at all.

I know, i know. I dont like living in a world where i am being placed in a crazy house because i think different, but someone has to draw a line where its clear someone its not in the right mindset and has to take some drugs to have their brain work fine.
>>
>>15255277
You live in a democracy, man. The person who draws that line will change every few years based on how popular their lies are and how much they dominate the mainstream media. Don't give democracies any power you wouldn't give to a random whackjob on the street, because that random whackjob could be your next congressman.

Forced correctional programs are really fucking dangerous. Societies have repeatedly proven that they are incapable of not abusing them to enforce political agendas. It's a power that no government should have except in a case where someone is a clear and present danger to themselves or others. Thought is not a crime. Actions are. If someone is mentally deranged, but not an overt threat to themselves or others, they can exist in society. It may be a bit inconvenient at times, but it's better to err on the side of giving them too much freedom. The alternative has been the tool of totalitarian regimes and individuals throughout history.

Even in purely economic terms, it's waaaaaaaaaaay cheaper to have some harmlessly crazy person running around living off of welfare and section 8 housing, than having them locked up in an institution, or imprisoned (yes that happens). It's also far more humane.

Freedom has a price. It's measured in the degree to which a society does not regulate your behavior. The price is the consequences you suffer when someone slips through the filters and forces others to suffer. The question is, what freedoms are you willing to sacrifice for protection? However, you must also ask yourself if those protections actually mean anything, or are they merely illusions.

The western world could suffer a 9/11 every month, and collectively decide that a few thousand deaths did not bother us, and do nothing about it, and we would as a society still grow without even beginning to crumble. Our economies are so titanic that the direct financial damages would barely register, and our population growth would make the deaths a statistical rounding error. What real harm is a few million people with mundane delusions in comparison to that? Is forcing someone who is not 'normal' to undergo therapy really a rabbit hole you want to go down? What happens when you are the outsider to society's 'normality'?

I get it. Its things like these that made me realize how sad it is that there isn't a truly free country in the world, even in the US you cant do things that wont bother someone else without some stuff being illegal for no reason.

Nobody ever said Australian politicians were a smart bunch.

Neither are we, come to think of it. We elected Abbott, after all - and that dickhead didn't even last half a term as PM of Australia before he fucked it up so hard they fucked him off.

There's quite a few instances of a Senator Conroy calling people pedophiles and shit because they opposed his internet filter idea.

My pet peeve is lawn darts. Bunch of drunken fuckwits had to ruin them for the rest of us.

Back to cops.

I got pulled over because I ordered too much food at a drivethrough. Apparently pulling an all nighter because of a massive hardware failure in our server room and buying a dozen baconators at 3:30 in the morning to last the 4 of us through the next days sleep deprivation makes me a pothead. Fortunately I play tennis with the commanding officer for third shift in that town so I just called his personal cell and he got supremely fucking pissed at the dipshit who pulled me over.

2 years later he went to prison for stealing from homeless people. Well that and raping a woman who didn't have anything to pay him off. Real charmer, that one.

Cop followed me literally from the time I pulled out of my neighborhood until I got into the Wal-Mart parking lot before he turned his lights on. I knew one of my headlights were out and that's where I was headed because I had work in a few hours. He noticed that I was white skinned and offered to fix it for me. He walked up and gave it a little bunch and came on. Said something must be loose. Saved me money on buying a new bulb. Got something to eat and headed off to work.
