They cost the same because the X-Type is more reliable than a similarly priced XJ and you know this
I own one and like it. Slower and more reliable than my older XK8 and comfy as hell. AWD is nice in the winter around here. I will say I do want more power, but when doing 80+ it doesn't even flinch.

Basically a Jag that doesn't break down. Personally I prefer the S-type. Far more authentic jag feel with good reliability.
