A thread for our beloved econobox pocket rockets. Talk experiences, ask for advice and questions and generally shitpost about the Fiesta ST.

>"The Last Good Version" Edition
What was the last good version of your favourite hot hatch, or are they still making it?

>What is a "Hot Hatch"?
A Hot Hatch is a manufacturer produced, performance oriented variant of a standard hatchback, designed for improved handling, increased top speed, acceleration and generally enhance the driving experience.

>Are all Hot Hatches FWD?
No. Whilst most Hot Hatches are FWD, some are AWD or even RWD.

>Isn't FWD shit?
No. Just because you can't get the arse out by stamping on the accelerator doesn't mean you can't have fun.

>Aren't Hot Hatches just for Europoors?
No; with the launch of the Fiesta and Focus ST to joining the MS3 and Abarth in the US, it seems like the Hot Hatch is beginning to take off on the other side of the Atlantic, but Europoors definitely have more choice.

>Is the Fiesta ST actually good?
The Fiesta ST is one of the best small hot hatches on offer at the minute; so yeah they're pretty good.

Should i try and buy a Honda ep3 or go for a Focus/Fiesta ST?

I havent driven any of them but i need a new commuter car once i get bored of my project car.

Ill be commuting 120+ miles a day, which one would be comfiest?

The K20 is one of the most responsive engines to upgrades and a tune, and the fact that it starts off with 190 HP isn't a bad starting point at all, for all the money spent and the work that will have to be done turboing a Fit, you might as well swap the k20 because you get the same or better power at stock performance and will be infinitely more reliable

2012 Abarth here. Loads of fun, I've had it since Sept. '14. I'm in Houston too, considering going to one of the /hou/ meets some day.

It's p stock, I am wanting to get the GoPedal for it and a front sway bar within the next few weeks.

I had a Trump sticker on the back and it looked great but I had to regularly go to some ghetto areas for a while and niggers would key my car and yell at me and shit for it so I took it off for the time being.

I also plan on shopping around in the /osg/ for some sticks + getting another Trump one.

I mean I really don't want to do much to this car, it's fun as it is.

Pic was taken today, my baby hasn't been washed in weeks cause of all the rain.

I don't keep track of MPGs but if I fill up on 87 it doesn't usually cost me more than ~$20 a tank, and I drive at least 20 miles every other day, and I go at least a week without filling up. I also drive like an asshole 80% of the time and shift a lot higher than 2k so that probably doesn't help.

Maintenance is easy. I know fiat gets shit for being hard to maintain but I haven't had to do anything besides replacing brake pads and oil changes.

Yeah, but they cost something like $900 to be purchased and shipped from the UK to the States, and they aren't DOT approved headlamps if I recall. Even then you have to add a pin to the wiring harness (if i recall) so that the LED DRL strips work.

I was looking at the Fiesta ST, but it was pretty small, didn't have that many options, and honestly, the MazdaSpeed3 I ended up buying was the color I liked, offered more space, had the larger/more powerful 2.3l engine, had the tech package, and cost $6k less (used).

Overall, I would of liked the lower curbweight and better mpg from the Fiesta, but the added size, options, and increased displacement/power is what made me pick the MS3 instead.

That being said, I really like the Fiesta and Focus.

Mate, don't get a VXR8. My mate got the new series Commodore SS (with the LS3 engine, same you get in the VXR8) and he sold it after two weeks. It drinks more fuel than a spaceship launching and the chassis can't put down the power. The car breaks traction in every gear and this was on the dry australian roads. I couldn't imagine what it's like on wet European roads. The car just couldn't manage the power output.

I'd get a Golf GTI Clubsport. They're beautiful cars

Nigger, what AC console did they pry out and how? Its got 2 screws one on each side that you can reach unless you remove the glovebox and the inside fuse panel and even then its still a pain in the butt. And theres no 60 wires even if you double them.
Mexicans didnt steal your AC console because you havent got one.

I bought a used 2012 MazdaSpeed3 w/ tech package about a month ago. I'm liking it alot. I'm keeping it stock for awhile before I figure out what my goals/mods will be.

So far, i'm just gonna go with simple bolt-ons and tune, springs, shocks, swaybars, lighter wheels, and a mild brake upgrade.

Just an overall improvement in power (probably around 350hp), handling, and braking, while keeping driveability.
