Is this the best cheap DD?
>prices range between $1k - $3k for the cleanest ones and parts cars can be had even cheaper
>5 speed and auto options
>over 200 horsepower and torque
>4 doors and huge trunk
>mpg in the mid to high 20s
>cheap parts because 90s and american
>can be a nice sleeper
>inconspicuous
Is there anything that's as good of a balance between cheap, fun, and practical while retaining some semblance of reliability? Literally the only downside I can see is that it's fwd (but we're talking DD not track car) and that aftermarket parts aren't cheap.

nah, it's the toyota corolla.
>>prices range between $1k - $3k for the cleanest ones and parts cars can be had even cheaper
this is also true for the corolla.
>>5 speed and auto options
yep, also true for the corolla.
>>over 200 horsepower and torque
corolla does not meet this criteria, but arguably horsepower is the least important thing for a cheap dd
>>4 doors and huge trunk
mhm
>>mpg in the mid to high 20s
corolla: 30s to mid-40s
>>cheap parts because 90s and american
corolla's parts are not quite as cheap, but it will break less often
>>can be a nice sleeper
this doesn't mean anything
>>inconspicuous
could anything be less conspicuous than a corolla?

So fuck off already.

im running a 95 cherokee, live in upstate ny, reliable, bought for 1500 (normal price around here with no rust) put almost no money into it, just routine maintenance and my own mods and stuff ie lightbar tires headlights lift,
>>15217924
It's faster than a Beretta

>1st generation LS400 (series I&II, 00-94) can be had in good condition for $2k-$3k.
>reliable, amazing longevity
>versatile
>comfortable, refined, luxurious
>v8 with good mpg
>rwd and surprisingly common drift platform
>lots of modding possibilities and good aftermarket and enthusiast community
>historically significant and influential
>>15217919
I'd argue that having horsepower and torque is worth losing a few MPGs over the corolla. At least it is for me because I'd like to enjoy my car a bit.

It's a full size luxury sedan. You only would want it in an automatic unless you did a swap for some crazy project like pic related.
