Sup aut/o/bots I was wondering if the 04-06 Acura TSX are good cars? Is there anything I need to look out for? Are the transmissions shit like the TL's? Any help, advice, criticism would definitely help me out! I also live in Cali so don't say anything bout le rust, le snow, le get AWD.

They're good. Get a manual to avoid any potential trans issues. Get one as clean and low mileage as possible. Don't buy one if it was owned by a boyracer.
>>
>>15198305
My TL has been pretty much bullet proof, I know a lot of other people who owned 3G TL's and ive never heard the transmissions being an Issue outside of retards on /o/

Expect electrical problems like your Bluetooth module failing and constantly draining your battery. Thats probably the only guaranteed shit show with the TL
>>
Just got an 04 with 91k miles. So far so good, needs a window regulator and has some navi issues

Should I really get a manual?!? I live literally in the heart of LA so I encounter traffic daily! Is it worth to keep punching the clutch in from neutral to first and so on and so forth? Maybe I'm just being a bitch
>>
>>15198351
Yes the 6 speeds are actually quite hard to come by and retain their value well.
>>
>>15198326
What year of the 3G's TL? What if I get automatic on a 2005 one? Will it fuck up on me? Will basic maintenance like oil change, spark plugs, transmission fluid, etc will help prevent the transmission to fawk up on me??
>>
>>15198351
Yes. Don't be a pussy. Hondas generally have light clutches and great shifters.
>>
>>15198356
Dank you man. I'll keep a hunt on one. Any years from this model I need to avoid?
>>
They're only worth it if you swap the engine for the turbo engine that comes in the Acura RDX. Since they're essentially the same engines swapping them takes an hour. Then you get turbo goodness.

Otherwise not worth it

I have an 05 right now with 210,000kms on the clock. Car has been in the family since 05 and have kept up with basic maintenance as you said and there have been no issues what so ever mechanically with the car.

I would go with a TL over the TSX because even now like a fucking TL Type S goes for around 10k for garbage 18k for decently taken care of and they are faster than any of the V6 mustangs made up until 2011 with the benefit of a rear seat.

Danks for the motivation. I just have a fear that I'll stall in the middle of traffic if I'm smoking a blunt
>>
>>15198384
Huh I had no fucking clue about the RDX m8! If I do plan to maybe swap what year of the RDX engine you suggest me to look? So basically once I swap a RDX engine in, I can add turboooooooo????
>>
>>15198393
Kill yourself.
>>
>>15198408
No the engine in the RDX is turbo already. U just swap engine and Ecu

lock actuators like to take a dump whenever they want

clutch pedal brackets like to crack and break whenever they want to

if you buy an AT, change the transmission fluid filter. Its on a cooler circuit and its only 2 hose clamps. behind the airbox area. "regular" Acura maintience says you never have to change it. Also change the fluid with OE stuff fairly often. Its only a 3/8ths socket on the bottom of the trans and filling from up top. Its ~3 litres per change anyway.

everything else is fairly usual.
>>
>>15198615
I guess u can't to it. The trans won't fit. Sorry. Maybe take turbo off rdx engine instead.

you obviously have never driven a manual car in traffic. its not that big a deal. put in first and accelerate then put in neutral and coast to a stop.

really isnt that bad

yeah just stop fucking talking. the 2.4 in the tsx is better than the 2.3 in the rdx even as n/a

Op the tsx is bullet proof manual especially the 04-06 ones not a single problem comes with them except a bitch oil filter location thats it. the k24a2 is awsome.

Actually I have and my job is a escort driver & valet in DTLA. I look forward driving a manual car because it is fun but when it's day time & rush hour that's when I feel like I'm going to kill myself. Plus it's gonna be my DD, like I said I'm just scared that I might stall in he middle of traffic when I'm hotboxing the whip with my hoes
>>
>>15198657
Referring to the TL? TSX? Or both m8?
>>
>>15199029
why would you ever be afraid to stall in traffic? why is anyone ever afraid of stalling? it doesnt hurt the car and it isnt a big deal. the more you think about stalling the more you are going to do it. if you stall in traffic and someone hits you its still their fault. i live in norcal and i have driven this pic related all the way from the valley all the way carlsbad. so i know what traffic you are talking about and i never stalled once. granted i sit in stop and go traffic 4 hours a day when i go to work and come home from work. and i dd this manual shitbox.
>>
>>15198305
You are better off getting a manual man. It's more reliable and funner. Also try to get one that wasn't modified and that at least has previous records of service history.

My brother has an 05 Tl (now has 85k) auto and he babys the living shit out of it and it still shifts harder than a motherfucker and is quite annoying because it tries to adapt to your driving habits and shit. It's also obviously slower than the manuals as well. He also has to do dumb shit that many TL guys do like 3X3 drain and fills and pulling the E-brake up before shifting gears. Not to sure about TSXs but I can only assume that they're similar and I heard the trannys (auto) go out on them too. He regrets not getting the manual. And most Honda trannys (and power steering pumps) are known for being shit, engines are bullit proof tho.

But yeah go for it and join groups, these cars have a large following and do your research as well. Good luck.
