On my local Insterstate 4 in central FL, the speed limit for most of it is 70. People usually don't go slower than 80. If you're going 80 in the left lane it's not unusual to get your ass rode by people going 85, 90, or even more.
People are routinely abusing this "passing lane" shit, thinking they can treat it like it's the fucking Autobahn and just go however fucking fast they please with no regard to the flow of traffic or people around them. State Troopers here are still more concerned with reckless tailgaters, speeders and weavers than they are with people going 10 over the limit in the left lane but still "holding up traffic".

I completely agree with you about people being impatient. I've never let being late for something morally license me to speed or otherwise act like a cock on the road. And if I'm impatient, I don't take it out on other people. I get frustrated with them but go on about my day normally.
That's how 99.9999% of people think and work, and, as we haven't heard of a serial PIT-maneuvering RAM in Oklahoma, I'm willing to bet that the RAM driver thinks like that too. All it takes is the wrong stimulus on a bad day to make someone lose rationale and do something they regret.
The point is, the RAM is 95% at fault here, because he was ultimately responding to stimulus that caused him to choose that course of action. The Z was intentionally providing that stimulus.
