Okay I could argue from societal perspective why in my country BMW drivers are worst. Suffice to say my country wasn't very wealthy not a while ago and car to some people is seen as a status symbol. Now noveau rich, as they in general lack sense jumped to the premium car brands, in particular BMW, because it's german, luxury and muh money.

Right now I'm about to sell my bimmer and buy a SC300 in manual if I can, or just settle for a 98 SC400 with 290hp and a 5 speed for a while and 2jz swap it later. I know a lot of pro dudes and very few of them actually make any money. They get their travel budgets, free parts and clothes, but the actual income isn't shit to live off of. Couple of the dudes have bronze and silver X-Games medals from years ago and are just working regular jobs (not great jobs tbqhwy). They missed their chance at trying to get a career going.
It would be fun if I got to travel around the world riding little kids' bicycles from age 17-23, but mostly for the stories. I didn't do anything worthwhile in that time of my life anyway. But it doesn't mean much by the time you're 30 and kids half your age are better than anybody from your whole generation.

Lots of them try to stay in the BMX world with other businesses too. One dude who was in the Dave Mirra games on XBox and PS2 or whatever lives outside Chicago now and had his own company going with frames and bars for a couple years. Had a friend riding for him but the time he put into the company wasn't worth it for the money so he had to scrap it and work on supporting the family.

You pretty much have to be totally ready to jump clear of the bike any time something goes wrong. If you get tangled up, it sucks. The one good thing compared to skating is that you can miss the pedals and still aim for the seat and try to save yourself. If you don't have both feet planted on a skateboard, you're probably going down.
