Hey /o/, trying to decide on a sub ~$15,000 pre-owned vehicle. Thinking compact or midsize sedan. Here's what I'm looking at:

Dodge Dart (The 1.4L Turbo w/DDCT)
>I've heard the transmissions on these are a bit fucky

Volkswagen Jetta GLI
>These seem to be moderately hard to find in my price range

Kia Optima
>Boring from a performance standpoint, but I kinda like the looks

Your thoughts?

New Kias seem to be bulletproof, and you can get one new with the 10yr/100000mi warranty for just a little bit more than your price point.

I'd avoid the dodge unless it has a concentional auto or stick.

Don't know anything about newish Jettas except that they're huge and have simple, nice interiors for the money

Cool. I kinda liked the Dart because it's basically a fat American version of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta (which they're not importing). But yeah, seems like a bad idea.

Leaning heavily toward the Jetta.

Dodge is shit
VW is unreliable and expensive to repair
Get the Kia or maybe a Chevy Cruz 6 speed manual

What does that have to do with anything in this thread?

The Cruz is a really boring looking car though (and I can't drive stick). At least the Kia looks pretty good.

Or a 2009 Mitsubishi Galant raliart 3.8l they make 260hp stock or a lancer ralliart 6speed dct if you can find one cheap enough
I have a 2011 Galant 2.4l and its been a decent and I've put almost 10k on it

Well, I'm buying certified pre-owned, and Mitsubishi has no central listing of inventory. Makes researching more difficult. I've got to look at the website for each individual Mitsubishi dealer in the area to get a feel for what's available, and at what price.
I am considering adding the Lancer to my shortlist. We'll see.

I'm keeping my eyes open for an affordable 3rd gen Mazda3, but the only ones in my area sub-$15K are 2nd gen. I'm not a fan.
