Hey guys, I made a thread similar to this one, but I forgot about it. Anyway, my friend is selling a 2005 ford mustang that he bought for 2500 USD, it's in fair condition. I've been interested in buying it, but i'm kind of new to cars and car buying. It has a V6 engine in it, and it has 171,000 miles on it(which is why i'm cautious about buying it). My question is, is it worth getting, if so, how much and what should I do with it? We're planning on having a mechanic look at it in the future, but I want to ask you guys.
People here will give you shit for a V6 Mustang, but if you can score a running car for $2500 I don't see why not
Get it checked out obviously
here's your thread anon

it died

He could get a v8 mustang for that much if he goes back a generation or two
>>15183525
No. It's a shitty car and not worth any amount of money. Shut up and buy a civic.
>>15183550
Running cars are as cheap as 500 bucks. If you want just a "running car" for 2500 you're seriously overbudgeting

Let me rephrase that: a running car that won't fall apart in the next 6 months
Here's a question. Are you getting this because it's a car in good condition that you're getting a deal on and intend to use as a commuter? If so, then it's fine, but be wary of RWD in the winter.
Or are you getting it because "no seriously guys the V6 is faster", because in that case you're a faggot.

Fox body mustang gt

>fox body
>cheap in 2016

boost it or go LS1 , save up a thousand and a couple beers for your friends
>>15183586
As slow as the last gen V6 while being 30 years old
>>15183592
Means it's an investment.

>le LS swap meme
don't do this OP, just drop a f150 coyote bolts right in cuz modular, its cheaper and you can spend the money needed for an LS on a 9 inch rear
Coming from a v6 2005 mustang, don't do it OP, of you want a V6 go for a 2011 one or an Altima v6.

>SOHC Cologne V6
>170,000 miles
I'd be a little wary. It's also going to be slow as dog shit.
Owned one of these for a long time
>that year model will have leaks around the junction box
>thermostat housing likes to split whenever it wants (upgrades available)
>overall small engine aftermarket
On the plus side, if you find a 4.6 out of a gt the swap is really easy if you have everything like the mounts, driveshaft, shifter, etc

>V6
But other than that, at least it's not a fucking civic.
the timing chains are gonna rattle themselves apart.
