There's a lot of Pontiac G6's on the market that are super cheap now that Pontiac is kaput. Can anyone speak to the reliability?

They're unrelated the the Cobalt. You're thinking of the Pontiac G5.
The Pontiac G6 shared almost everything with the Chevrolet Malibu, and shared its chassis with the Saab 9-3. Fairly reliable, if a bit dull. GTP models could be had with a 6 speed manual, and the 2.4L I4 models I think could be had with a 5 speed stick, but those were the only models available with a stick.

i got one with 80k on it. i have 3.5 v6. had to have airbag sensors replaced and the fuel solenoid replaced. The electric power steering is spongy. The cars are also known for water leaking in with sunroof models.
