Seems like in recent years Hyundai has been trying to rebrand itself as a producer of sporty, mid-trim level vehicles and Kia is going more for the budget econobox market.

Obviously Hyundai. They at least make better cars now which can hold up to the leaders in the segments respectively. Hyundai makes a fairly good sports car, the Genesis coupe. A fairly good luxury car, the Genesis. A fairly good SUV, the Tucson. A fairly good family 7 seater, the Santa Fe.
And what does Kia make? Copying BMW+Audi design and the calling it the K900/Quoris. Not to mention the boring droning sounded other of their cars.
