why do italian cars get so much hate on /o/ ?
>>15169714
Because as much as /o/ claims to like fun, they want their cars to be econoboxes. They can't understand wanting a car for the sole reason of enjoyment, they're always fettered by their instinctual benchracing.
>>15169740
Shitaly makes loads of econoboxes, some of them are even pretty good.
>>15169714
Because unless your going to spend over $200k the car is guaranteed to be an unreliable shitbox with tons of competition in its class being produced by superior companies.
>>15169755
Like, Honda, right? :^)
>>15169769
Like literally anything. Yes, Honda is one example.
>>15169755
That goes for American cars as well.
Because they're afraid of the reborn Alfa Romeo master race
>>15169714
In the US at least, Italian cars are relatively expensive and it can be hard to find parts for them.
>>15169874
Also, since there aren't that many of them on the road, finding a mechanic that has any sort of experience working on them can be next to impossible depending on where you live.
>>15169714
Because electronics matter.
>>15169714
Most of /o simply doesn't live in Europe.
Italian cars really aren't that much worse than most other countries vehicles in terms of reliability but they got a horrible name in the us because they imported a bunch of shitty cars made with shitty steel and didn't have a dealer or repair network. Jim down at the gas station was too retarded to fix the vehicles properly. my buddy just picked up a 124 for like 1200 dollars and rebuilt the engine and put a new soft top on it and its a fucking amazing little car all for under 5k. sure he had to do some wiring but who cares?
>>15169805
The price point where things start to get interesting is much, much lower with American cars.
>>15169714
American prejudice against Italians is at least 100 years old, not sure why you expect any better from /o/.
