The rules: Must be NA, 2.0L or under. Older than 2000. i have ~3k to spend after safety gear. FWD or RWD doesnt matter, Would prefer to stay away from AWD (too much drivetrain loss for a car already making under 180bhp.
ive been looking for an FXGT corolla. either AE82 or AE92. (seen a few 92's for sale)

If it's track car and you're on a budget then 2nd gen n/a MR2 or E36 320i.
If it's autocross then some soobaru/mitsubishi or E30 320i. If in Europe, you might get your hands on a N/A Cosworth Sierra/Escort.
If you're rich then RX7 or any rotary in general will net you shitload of power on little to no displacement.

I hate to say it but a Honda would fit your needs really well.
Try to find an Acura Integra GSR sedan. The sedan is a little heavier but has a stiffer chassis than the coupe which should aid handling on a racetrack.
