Why does a new BR-Z/86 cost as much as an Ecoboost mustang?
For it's performance and what it's offering... I feel like the toyobaru should cost $22k new.

The BRZ/86 is cheap as is. Mustangs (Ecoboost especially) are just cheap in Americlap too. Elsewhere it's a little more pricey. Can you afford either in the first place, OP?

Regardless, people will pay for it. They made it FR in hopes of people throwing it around corners and hectic skids but at the end of the day it made little difference. It's got shitloads of aftermarket support and huge potential but the average owner bought it for the looks.

Well, it was the God machine in its time though, the previous V6 is still faster on the straight line due to less weight and 305hp.
(Oddly enough, newer ,V6s have 300hp instead of 305).
This series of photos show an old test where the 86/BRZ lost to an ecoboost Falcon. The Falcon has less power and is significantly heavier than the Mustang. Note the mid corner speeds.

Nah i got AVO. Ive had the turbo on the car almost 3 years so the dyno sheet is long gone. Comp is the same, running 98 octane, the ignition timing is a bit more advanced than i liked but its been pretty good. Crowns are great on the fa20, they're not going to melt easy, its the rods that are the weakest point

A simple reflash and a CAI can get the twins to 380hp, double that with a turbo. Like any modern car the fuel/timing map was made with emissions in mind, any tuner can make sick power with these engines. None of the haters ITT know anything about cars, sorry :/
