Seems like a decent way to get a cheap V8. I know some people don't like the look, but whatever, its not their car.
No weight over the rear wheels means it won't perform as well as equivalent muscle

What's your plan for it? I have one. Love the sound and it's a great cruiser. Somewhat functional as a truck but since mines set up with super soft suspension wouldn't want to overload it. Eats gas.

Aside from that, most of the 1980's models have the 305 V8.
The 305 is trash. You'll have trouble getting the power you want from it due to the extreme undersquare design of an uber long stroke and a tiny cylinder bore.
The upside is that a 350 drops right in with no modification and fixes the problem immediately. It's not that the 350 has more displacement that makes it better for performance, but the oversquare design of a large bore and a smaller stroke (though the 350 and 305 share the same stroke).
Hell, Chevy's 302 from 67-69 Camaro Z28's proved that displacement wasn't everything as the 302 Camaros were the fastest of all first gen small block cars, even including 327 and 350 cars.
