I have 50k and want the cla45, really want acantara, carbon fiber, red brakes which will prob make 55k. Can't decide the color though, which ones you like? If you dont like any because you dislike the car then I dont give a shit.

First of all, your comparison is flawed. CLA has much better interior than a CL65, I've driven a CLA and drove a CL600. The vast majority will agree the CLA looks better in the exterior and interior than an old CL. So why spend all that money just simply to not badgewhore, or for a .1 faster 0-60. There might be slight differences but overall the CLA is much more dated, high quality and youthful than a CL (aside from that beautiful v12).

The CLA is the epitome of badgewhoring. You can buy the base CLA250 for something like 33K, without any sort of heated seats or even a rear view camera.
The C300 is a good mid level luxury sedan. It's not trying to be fancier than it actually is like a CLA.

The current lineup is alright, I do like the styling and how closely knit all the models look. Not a fan of the interior--quality is okay, but visibility is bad and I feel extremely out of place inside, almost like I'm not driving and it's scary. 99% automatic only is a turnoff for me, but it's not like that's exclusive to Mercedes right now... then again, they sort of started that a long time ago.
If we're talking old Mercs, I think they're ugly inside and out and cheap inside too. Especially the W124 generation, everyone says they look rich but I just see a Jetta. All in all, nothing to write home about, but they're the best selling luxury brand and that bothers me.
